  Re: Personality test vs. Religion

(...) But I don't need proof; I'm not the one trying to profit off of the test. (By the way, I can't confirm the correct spelling. While researching it, I've found "Myers" and "Meyers" with about equal frequency, so I'm flummoxed) Because the owners (...) (20 years ago, 29-Oct-04, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: sensor-defined variable

(...) Nothing is wrong with 10, it was my assumption that was wrong. There are more than one version of the LEGO firmware, and it appears you have an older version that does not allow variable frequencies (the frequency must be a constant). Try (...) (19 years ago, 13-Apr-05, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: TCLTC Style Track Details

(...) I agree that black and white have no place in speckling. If one is to only speckle regular LEGO track, then using gray and light gray is a good solution IMO. I wanted to alter the tie frequency of the LEGO track, and so that is why I chose to (...) (19 years ago, 6-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: NXT memory limits

The only facility in the standard NXT firmware for playing sounds of any kind are playing a tone (frequency/duration) or playing a .rso file which has previously been uploaded to (...)   Re: Two way audio -Reply

A couple of years ago I built a small FM transmitter that had a small microphone on it. I could hear whispers in the room next door when I turned it on and tuned in a small transister radio to its frequency. This may be an option. Mike (...)   RE: weird headers

(...) Thanks, I stuck a pot in it's place and fiddled with it until I got 4.49k and it worked great. I came up with the 4.49k by taking 1/x*.0068 = 32.75. Where .0068 is the cap, and 32.75 was my desired frequency. So x was determined to be 4.49 (...) (27 years ago, 23-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Speed surges

Recent "big loco" and "big car" projects by others have started me thinking about speed surges and wondering if there is a relation. I notice that my longer locos and longer (car length and number of cars) trains experience high frequency (...) (25 years ago, 20-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Durned Telemarketers!

We don't get very many telemarketing calls at all. Why? We know the magic words: "Put us on your do not call list." If you say this to every telemarket who calls you, you will find that the frequency of telemarketing drops off precipitously, to the (...) (22 years ago, 27-Aug-02, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Ultrasonic Sensor Without Use Of A Microcontroller

Try powering that ckt with battery. and use RCX to only read the reading. since you may have spiks on your power line ( which will change your resonance frequency of 555). if that works use .1uF bypass cap as (...)   IR sensor question

If we connect the sensor as per the illustration in the handy board document, how do we make the emitter transmit IR waves? what will be the frequency of the IR beams (40kHz)? (...)   Re: ir tower -> consumer electronics

Either I'm missing something, or there's a fundamental error in people's understanding of "IR".
