Re: LEGO Company announces poor performance in year 2000

(...) HALLELUJAH! LEGO has finally admitted that getting away from made them great has failed - and miserably. Now that the non-brick and garbage-brick ventures have been exposed as unprofitable as well as unpopular, they can get back to the good (...) (24 years ago, 1-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Civil War Photos

(...) I especially like the Confederate soldier who is using the butt of his gun. Has anybody done a good Napoleanic/Victorian battle scene? I am trying to get together enough red Imperial soldiers to do a British colonial scene -- like redcoats (...) (23 years ago, 14-Apr-01, to lugnet.western)

  Re: TLG and "Seeding"

(...) I don't want to sound too personally critical, but are you being serious? Sets like King Leo's Castle are more sophisticated than things like King's Castle? Or how about the 1998 Cargo Center compared to the 1984 model? And as for idea books, (...) (24 years ago, 28-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Sculpture on Lego S@H

(...) Aside from being a really cool-looking model (which it definitely is), this set comes with some neat pieces: -brown 4x8 space wings -red rounded fences -brown 4x4 tiles w/4 studs (I think) I really hope LEGO makes a series out of these. I, for (...) (23 years ago, 9-May-01, to lugnet.general)

  Re: LEGO Trivial Pursuit Question

(...) That's funny - I just asked that question a few days ago myself. As soon as it was asked, everybody looked at me, like a big walking clue. I hassled my friend (who got it right) about calling them Legos. -Marc Nelson Jr. (23 years ago, 21-Jun-01, to lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: Why all the dumping? Re: Bad Policy #2 (Why all the secrecy, LEGO Direct?)

(...) To all: I am truly sorry if I made anyone angry with my comments. I was a little overwhelmed by the negative response to my complaint. I just got the (maybe mistaken) feeling from what seemed like everyone that not only is LEGO doing things (...) (23 years ago, 7-May-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: Elephant (Hannibal crossing Alps on Triceratops?)

(...) Thanks! A neat thing about the tail that you can't tell from the pictures is that it is mounted on a technic half-peg so it can swing back and forth. I probably don't have enough 2x2 rounds to use them for legs, and I kind of like the unbroken (...) (24 years ago, 17-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Hannibal crossing Alps on Triceratops?

(...) You know what's funny? I had tried for hours when I built that thing to figure out a way to do tusks. I was trying to use ninja katanas, but I just couldn't figure it out. But as soon as I had posted those pics, it struck me to do exactly what (...) (24 years ago, 17-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle)

Polybag Racks (was: Shopping Anecdote and Suggestions (Long))

(...) This reminds me of one of my favorite childhood memories. Every time I would go grocery shopping with my grandfather, on the way back we would stop at a little drugstore. I think I am more interested in having a say in the look of the shirts than how they are produced. As for high (...) (24 years ago, 17-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)
