Re: Enter the LEGO(R) Design Challenge

(...) hi john i definitely acknowledge that tlc has involved afols in the past (i feel strongly it's where 'legends', 'creator theme' and the whole 'factory' ideas are from--along with other improvements). i guess i just feel like our involvement (...) (...) thanks for the response, david. i understand and accept the rules. my main point was the cheap notion of 'let's have a contest to gather LOTS of ideas for (relatively) free rather than pay our on-staff designers to get creative'. ..jg (14 years ago, 28-Jul-10, to lugnet.mediawatch, FTX)

(...) Nod. Brickwiki just silently disappearing is rather a bummer, lost a fair bit of work from a fair number of folks. I've pinged the owner a few times about bringing it up long enough to get the data extracted but no joy yet. (14 years ago, 31-Jul-10, to lugnet.mediawatch, FTX)

(...) Editing goes against "the newsgroup spirit", which was a big deal to Todd... (and maybe that means the implementation of editing would be hard, I have no idea) But cancellation, if by the author, does not go against that spirit, in my view. (...) Benn, Excellent MOC! I really enjoyed seeing it in person and was surprised by the detail that it has. Really nice job curving the shape of the boiler! I had fun at BrickWorld, and hope to see you again next year. Scott (14 years ago, 25-Jun-10, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
