I’ve been working on this for more than a year now. Powered through the
articulated drivers with 4 XL Power Functions motors. It is capable of pulling
all of the cars shown, which is quite a feet even to pull them by hand.
Things to note:
4 XL motors!!!
15 feet long
Articulated and fully l-guage trackable
New Cow Catcher design
Romovable Roof with air duct hatch
Room for four inside cab
Curved Firebox
Tender has quick battery access and semi-quick motor disconnect
List of cheats / non-LEGO usage:
BBB wheels on leading and trailing trucks
Brick Arms Mono-Pods and U-Clips
Coat Hangers inside tubing to maintain shape
Spacers / Washers to help the crown gears not strip out
No LEGO was cut, glued, or painted to make this model (unless you count tubing).
