  AC adapter for RCX: Polarity is irrelevant
 
I discovered that it doesn't matter what polarity voltage is supplied by an AC adapter connected to the RCX. Apparently, the power jack connects to a full wave bridge rectifier. In fact, it may work on pure AC. I notice it maintains power for a (...) (26 years ago, 22-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)

  Crispy Fried Sonar Board?
 
Yep I got this box of goods from Acroname, containing a sonar module and some servos. promptly tore it open, soldered the sonar jack to the board, and then apparently plugged the cable in backwards. Here are my 2 cents on your questions (...) RCX2 will be a new brick. You won't be able to buy it until the fall of this year. (...) Hi All, I turned on my handyboard yesterday and found that the battery had died, zero,no voltage. I then plugged the wall transformer wire into the jack on the handyboard as I had been doing all along. The charge yellow led on the handyboard blinked (...) Call Spectrum (I think) Educational Supplies in Toronto. The educational versions of the Mindstorms kits may have different parts, but the RCX has a jack ( which is why you want it, right? ) Sorry, I don't have a number handy... Cheers, Ralph Hempel (...) Greetings Vancouver. I just wanted to share some info on a store that I lived near, in South Surrey, called Jack in the Box toys. I have always loved the design of the large model from the space section of the 84 Lego world show - the one shaped a little like a car jack.
