| | Re: NMRA show (the first of many?)
| (...) When the GMLTC displayed at the 1999 NMRA show in St. Paul, we received nothing but support from the "real" model railroaders. They would ask questions, make comments, point out mistakes (yea, we're not perfect!), and seemed genuinely (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

| | Cut Rate Toys
| HI all, I know this post really belongs somewhere under shopping, but it's really only a Chicago thing, and therefore, a GMLUG thing. So, here goes. There is a store in Chicago near the corners of Division and Central called Cut Rate Toys. Mant they (...) (24 years ago, 11-Aug-00, to lugnet.org.us.gmlug)

| | Using the new PF remote for Technic
| Hi everyone, I just got back from Brickfest in Portland and was lucky enough to see the unveiling of the new 10194 Emerald Night train and the new Power Functions elements which can be used with it. | | WTT/S Project Sets
| Is there any interest in trading incomplete sets? I have a number of "Project Sets" that are missing anywhere from 1 or 2 to lots of pieces and my shelf space is getting crowded. A few thoughts on dealing with this without having the database: Any non-Basic/Freestyle set which has a price significantly below 10 cents a brick is almost certainly a reduced price (though the Target Mos Espa value pack breaks that rule - (...) | | West End TRU
| I went to the West End TRU last night. Only a few things of note. First, the UFO large ship (Interstellar Starfighter?) was on deep discount for $27.99. They had two left. Ironically, with 280 some pieces, this is right around $.10 per piece. The (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.va.ric)

| (...) We had to leave the two middle sections of the train yard home, because we had no way to ship them. For the uninitiated: The layout is usually 45" longer (left-to-right). Each section is 45" long by 30/35/40" deep. The pictures are showing 14 (...) (24 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

| | Weird, Small Bricks Found
| A while ago, my wife came across a small bag of LEGO pieces that are unlike any others I've seen. They're about 3/4 size compared to regular bricks, and are in a variety of earth-tones: tan, brown, white, mustard, deep red. Most of them have the (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.general)
