  Getting Gear Ratios Right

Considering that gear ratio is such a fundamental concept, it's disturbing that several authors of Mindstorms books have got it confused. A good explanation is to be found on page 65 of Ben Erwin's "Creative Projects with LEGO Mindstorms". The best (...) (22 years ago, 20-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

  start_process question....

I am writing a program based mainly on Fred Martin's book. The code is prety close to his program, but when I try to load I keep getting the following error codes, "attempt to use <int> as an array", and, "too many argumentd given to , (...)   Re: Fantasy group?

(...) I'm not sure what you mean by 'in the long run'... Just to clarify, adding a group called build.fiction would have the intent of attracting posters whose building may be inspired by: TRON, Blade Runner, Hello Kitty, Le Morte D'Arthur, Monty (...) (...) That's true - I hadn't appreciated the level these people were at. In that case may I strongly recommend a classic: "The Art of Lego Design" by Fred Martin. You can find it in several places: (URL) could perhaps get these people to read it (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Thank you BayLUG

This is something I forgot to talk about at the last meeting... Saturday, May 18, 2002, was an anniversary for BayLUG... Back in May of 1998, LEGO released a schedule for its 25th Anniversary Traveling Truck Tour. In rec.toys.lego, Robery Dye posted (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.us.baylug)

(...) These are great! My favorites are Fred and Velma--brown helmet hair is perfect for her. I'd love to see some sort of spooky mansion MOC with them running around, and Scoob of course. Bruce (22 years ago, 18-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

hi Fred, I would love to see a reaction from you on the discussion in this thread in lugnet.robotics.   My random thoughts and comments on Brickfest 2002

To all of Brickfest attendees and organizers, I had a great time! While this was my first time attending, I do know what it's like to organize these events, and how difficult it can be. Sure, there are always some complaints, but we all know how (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Spybotics vs Cricket

Forgive me if this has already been discussed.. I haven't followed all messages here. I was at TLC's presentation of Spybotics at BF. There, it was described as, "the next generation of RCX."   Fred Meyers 20% off

I don't think anyone's mentioned this yet, but Fred Meyers has 20% off coupons for all Lego and Duplo until October 5th. The one closest to where I live had at least a few of the newer Harry Potter sets. But still no buckets. -- David Schilling (22 years ago, 2-Oct-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

I'm not sure, but I think this thread has now had more name changes than a dead LEGO product line. ;) (...) Name changes (after 20+ years of being in use) are a silly exercise.
