  Futbol 2000

Just checked out the new scans for 2000. While Town may be dead and resting in pieces Futbol certainly offers hope for any Townies that are still around. The Bus (the first of any kind since 1979) and the TV crew set are certainly on my want list. A (...) (25 years ago, 9-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Star Wars is both sci-fi and fantasy (was: Re: Science fiction)

(...) Hold that thought, I'll get back to that... (...) Well, my main reason is that it is really hard to define what science fiction *IS*; it's easier to say what it *ISN'T*. I had to be less than absolute because Star Wars shows features of both (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: 2000 Town construction sets

It never occurred to me last year but I think Town as we knew it is dead. The theme is now consistently referred to as CITY CENTRE rather than TOWN and this is being reflected in the type of sets we're seeing. Whereas previously the Town theme lived (...)   Re: tracking robot position

(...) with (...) attaching (...) PC (...) Hi Vlad, the main problem I see in using a mouse for dead reckoning is that you cannot register the rotation on its own vertical axis. So this solution is, by principle, not working. If you're not convinced, (...) (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: tracking robot position

This is an interesting idea, but I think you will have a problem common to most dead-reckoning navigation solutions and that is that wheel slip, mouse ball slip, and the differential slip between the two (i.e., if the robot wheel slips, the mouse (...)   Re: Color & Classic Space

I've never given any figure "rank" over each other (just my own wussy way of play when I was ten), but rather considered their job in a given Lego set as a clue to what their color might indicate as their "Class". Here's how I always broke 'em down: (...) (25 years ago, 6-Nov-99, to lugnet.space)
