  Re: LPub and Mega-POV Question

(...) I will second Kevin's suggestion of changing to ldview or ldglite. They produce excellent instruction pics and I think they look much better than MegaPOV with edge-lines for instructions. That said, I would strongly recommend backing up all (...) (18 years ago, 26-May-06, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: New Mecha: Trogladyte

Hi Jon. I'm sorry you felt that your mecha might be overlooked. Some weeks we get hit harder than most with work and life. As long as I'm here, every mecha gets a shot at the sidebar. I agree wholeheartedly with you choice as source parts. The (...) (18 years ago, 26-May-06, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Very Complex Early LEGO History

OK, I am going to insult 99% of all Adult Fans Of LEGO.... "99% of all AFOLs have no clue as to how complex 1950's and 1960's LEGO sets and parts really are!" OK, now I'll appologize.... Sorry! And now I'll explain.... :-D Anyone who has ever looked (...) (18 years ago, 25-Dec-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: A quick LEGO History

1970 was a very tumultuous year at TLG. A lot of bad things were in progress at the same time.... 1) the USA Samsonite license fiasco. 2) the death of Hanne Christiansen. 3) a new law passed by the Italian parliament. In October of 1969 on their way (...) (18 years ago, 24-Dec-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: A quick LEGO History

(...) So, out of curiosity, why is this usually called the starting date? I always hear it quoted that Lego started in 1932, but I'm not sure why people quote that rather than 1895 or 1916. From what I know (from 50 Years of Play book): 1895 - (...) (18 years ago, 24-Dec-06, to lugnet.general)

Re: Cleaning up the main homepage

(...) Prolly also worth explaining somewhere that the expression is compiled left-to-right and is therefore direction-sensitive. That is, -.loc. +.loc.us.ca is very different from +.loc.us.ca -.loc. The string expression is compiled into a code (...) (25 years ago, 12-Mar-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Who has the most Lego?

(...) I think you mean Mike Poindexter. Mike Stanley sells a lot of what he buys, I believe. My most recent estimate places my collection at 750K but I have essentially stopped buying large quantities. I have (just about??) all the LEGO I need at (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jan-01, to lugnet.general)

The 1932 date is when toys were first produced. Prior to that, it's more Christiansen family business ventures. 1932 = startup of toys. 1949 = bought their first injection molding machine, and started making the Automatic Binding Bricks. The (...) (18 years ago, 24-Dec-06, to lugnet.general)
