  A purist's tree

I built a simple tree just from 2×2 and 2×4 bricks a few days ago: (URL) (follow the link to see a bigger picture) Play well, Jacob (5 URLs) (11 years ago, 13-Jan-14, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build, FTX)

The Bay Area LEGO® Train Club (BayLTC) has opened its latest exhibit, at the Amador-Livermore Valley Historical Society and Museum in Pleasanton, California, now through July 11, 2004. This layout represents several "firsts" for the club: first (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jun-04, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.trains, lugnet.org.us.baylug, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, FTX)

Lego part available again after 27 years?

Like many of you I have purchased a few of the new Harry Potter sets. There is a new one out called "Shrieking Shack" #4756, which appears to have (4) 2x2 inside corner regular sloped bricks in white! This piece has not been seen in 27 years, since (...)   Going to Legoland with Binoculars...

Yesterday I was looking at a Lego Shop At Home catalog, and I noticed that the 2x2 windows were still available in white in bulk packs of 25. I was wondering why these were still here. And then I realized that this window is still used in Legoland (...) (20 years ago, 9-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

My latest MOC: Kenworth K100 tow truck

I always wanted to build a large scale US truck. Last year I decided to build a Kenworth K100 and removed the Holmes 750 twin boom from the old Scania 141 which I took apart.   Trans-Clear and Trans-Color LEGO Bricks...

LEGO transparent bricks have been produced by TLG since approximately circa 1951. The first trans-clear bricks were slotted bricks with no LEGO on the logos, but LEGO on the underside in block letters. This continued until 1956, when the slotted (...) (11 years ago, 1-Oct-13, to lugnet.general)

Re: The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire! (A CCC building)

Like others have already said, the use of white 2x2 round bricks for smoke and the trans-lt blue flame (for water, ironically) is brilliant! And you gotta love (...)   Re: New Knight's Kingdom Prices

(...) I'm never sure whether to be amused or aggravated when I see people griping about how much more LEGO sets cost now than they did when they were growing up. The one simple answer that noone seems to figure out is "inflation". Think about it. (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jun-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general)

I really like these models. You really seem to get the most out of any of the parts you build with. Who needs curved wedges when you have 2x4 bricks :).   New Knight's Kingdom Prices

I hope I'm not the only one that is slightly disappointed with the new Knights Kingdom. Mostly it's because of the continuing trend by LEGO to make it nearly impossible to buy large quantities of minifigs. They did a nice job last time around by (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jun-04, to lugnet.castle)
