  Re: Lego Brick Dimensions Changes?

The LDraw standards for dimensions make up a self-consistent system, though that system has some fundamental differences when compared to real-world bricks. (...) The general rule is that a plate is 1/8th of an inch, so one ldraw unit is 1/64th of (...) (22 years ago, 26-Nov-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: bricks upside down

(...) You can reduce this gap by using half-pegs instead (the ones with a stud on one end instead of another peg). This tends to be a bit loose, though. If you have the space and don't want outward signs, you could use a pair of <part:6232> "Brick 2 (...) (23 years ago, 14-Sep-01, to lugnet.build)

  RE: bricks upside down

(...) I like stuff to be fixed, so just sliding in the parts isn't good enough for me. :) Upside down stuff is easiest to do in a wall that's at least 2 studs thick, in my experience. Here are some solutions that can be used in a 1 stud wide space (...) (23 years ago, 14-Sep-01, to lugnet.build)

(...) I know exactly what you mean about brick shortages cutting into your castle. I was never really satisfied with the curtain wall on my most recent castle (a bit smaller than yours). I xcan think of two doiable ways of "beefing up" the wall: (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle)

Textured bricks that look like bricks?

Well, here's another one of my silly ideas: I got some black roof bricks today from Shop At Home. I was sorting them into their proper container, but of course couldn't resist snapping a few together into a roof segment, just to see how they looked. (...) (...) Yep! That’s the one! Excellent!!!! I would have replied earlier, but I am afraid that I was so inspired by it all, that I sat and built one of the buildings (until about 1:30 in the morning!). Previously, I had bought and sold Lego on Ebay; (...) (23 years ago, 29-Sep-01, to lugnet.boats, lugnet.build)

This is an interesting subject! The structure you choose has a lot of subtle effects on the way your ship looks in the end. As a more pragmatic designer, I believe that the function defines form, and keep flourishes to a minimum. (...) One of the (...) (23 years ago, 27-Sep-01, to lugnet.space)
