Re: Proportions for a 2001 Monolith in LEGO?

<snip> (...) Dunno about checking--my brain is a little fried today (long week of checking numbers and cross references here). If I recall correctly from reading the book, the 1 x 4 x 9 dimension comes from the squares of "the first three numbers": (...) (21 years ago, 23-Jan-04, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Helms Deep

(...) Half a dozen Alan Lee books, but none with any depiction of Helm's Deep. Sigh. But then again, it becomes an excuse to expand my collection. :-) Generally, I like Lee's structures: they have a greater air of reality to them, and his limited (...) (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: problem with lnpd...help!?

(...) That's wrong. You should write "char test4 = 'a';", otherwise you are implicitly casting the character 'a' to a pointer to store it in test4 (the compiler should warn you about this; use -Wall to catch these errors). (...) Mathematics aside, it's been a long time since I read the 2001 series (2001, 2010, 2061, 3001), but I recall that in one of 'em, there's a statement with the idea that the monolith is based on squares starting at 1, and the thought went on to (...) I'd like to chime in here to remind people that juniorization of LEGO System sets should not be confused with the introduction of the quick-build Jack Stone sets.   Re: Pics of some of my MOCs

Hey Kirby I've been experimenting lately with lighting and while floresent looks better then a halogen to the eye, I have had problems with a 'greening' or 'blueing' look to my pic with floresent. Instead I use three lamps; two regular adjustable (...) (23 years ago, 17-Mar-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) There are 2 black swords on Bricklink right now - $12 and $15. That's about avaerage, as I remember. The wall is less valuable - I have 5 or 6 in perfect condition.
