Having just gotten the new Lego catalog, I have to wail in despair or find a
wall to bang my head against. It seems that Lego has chosen to continue
down the path followed by every other toy maker in the world...further
abandoning its heritage.
Galidor. AAAGH!!!!! Just what are these mutant action figures? So far a
negative reaction from the 6 year old who thinks these are strange and the
10 year old who just made a face. Does Lego really think the world really
needs MORE action figures? Just WHAT do these things have in common with
ANYTHING Lego?
As Lego's brand identity as a "thinking" toy, building toy, "creative" toy
etc. slides further into the swamp of featureless "toy makers" - mass
producers of plastic "things" that deserve to be in the recycling bin sooner
rather than later....... You think they'd at least try to preserve the
premium that is (was) associated with the Lego name.
