Re: Robots In my mind - Robots with the power of learning

No bot will ever react human like while don't we have (at least): (a) Non boolean sensors / Lots of boolean sensors Example: Knowing a touch sensor it being pressed by N grams of strength or that is 30% pressed. Alternatively if we have lots of (...) (24 years ago, 3-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Their "U.S. Examples" omit things I'd consider to be even more closely aligned with their initial definition. Namely: WPA posters (...) (18 years ago, 30-Jun-06, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, FTX)

  Re: Mindstorms NXT programming languages

(...) Well, on my Linux box, the main Python interpreter is in a library called 'libpython' with a teeny-tiny main program running the command line version. The library is about a Megabyte - and depends on other stuff from other libraries. This is (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: strange motor behaviour

(...) The problem is that the upper memory area (0xf000-0xf800) is connected to both RAM and motor output. Every byte written here is also interpreted as motor command. The latest CVS version of BrickOS has fixed this (this memory is written only (...) (22 years ago, 2-Apr-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Problem with my handyboard

My handyboard is dead. It happened when I was fooling around with the expansion socket J3 and the LCD socket. I might have induced a short. Now first here are the symptoms: - I can download the pcode to the handyboard. It says the bootstrap was (...) (26 years ago, 8-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Not if was on when that battery disconnects. I think the memory is powered through a capacitor or somthing like that, when the RCX if off the power to the memory is maintained even when batteries arn't in for a few minuets because of the small (...) The one thing I would say about this is that anyone who has ever tried to write replacement firmware, or who has programmed in BrickOS/LegOS has encountered situations where the RCX has become completely locked up due to a programming error. 8K might be all that IC allows for user global data. The memory map can be rearranged, but only at the compile-time of the IC application.   Re: assembler time delay?

Tomas, NOP is the easiest way while staying within a single program. If you want to measure long periods of time, you could attach some code to the 2khz interrupt timer (documented in the handyboard manual). Just setup a memory space to use as a (...) is the memory... I just received an eBay winning auction consisting of 1 9v geared motor, a few wires, and a red micro-motor. So I'm all excited 'cause I think now I have 3 micromotors!! Yippee!!!
