  Programming the RCX

My son and I are new to the group (and to Mindstorms) so I don't know if this has been covered recently... I'd be very interested in learning the pros and cons of different programming options for the RCX. I'm currently using NQC but don't have a (...) (18 years ago, 10-Apr-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: Is there a NQC HowTo out there someplace?

(...) Well there are books called "Teach yourself C in 5 days", 21 days and so on... try amazon books. NQC is not actually a full C compiler, it has been simplified a great deal and if you learn the basics from a book, you'd be ready to go with NQC (...)   RE: Which terminal on Linux? plus random thoughts.

(...) I have beta quality Tcl code that sends an SRECORD firmware imge up to the RCX (fast or slow) and has basic terminal capabilities. It also strips comments and whitespace out of files as they are uploaded to reduce the time. I'd like to put a (...) (24 years ago, 4-May-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

linux and the USB IR Tower

Hi, I have been trying to use my lego mindstorms kit along with the USB IR Tower in linux. I have had limited success. I managed to patch the distribution so that firmdl3 recognizes the usb device. I compiled a module for the USB tower device. It (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  RE: New Dave Baum Book?

In a nutshell, both books are excellent. Jonathan's unofficial guide is a great overview and starting point for the many different languages that have sprung up around the RCX. Dave's book is more geared towards building in depth with both the Lego (...) (25 years ago, 4-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  RCX2 API

I've put together a NQC API file that allows you to use some of the RCX2 features. I don't no whether anyone else has already done this but here is mine. This is unofficial so is unsupported. Learning a new language can be a bit tricky, and I won't go into the details of why I think it's a good idea to learn different languages to get the benefit of different ways of thinking about problems...oops, don't get me (...) Rich: this looked real nice.
