  Re: Sensor Sampling; Progress?

I have been following this thread with great interest for two reasons. One day, someone will be persuaded to provide me with direct help and assistance in getting BrickOS running on my laptop - perhaps at BW or BF. I have built quite a few prototype (...)   Re: 2nd International LEGO MINDSTORMS Competition

(...) This was a bunch of fun last year. I'm not sure, but I'm hoping I can go again this year. The great part was meeting the "Best of the Best" in the world of LEGO Mindstorms. I assume the event will use the NXT. It should be interesting to see (...) (18 years ago, 27-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics.events)

  Re: BrickFest Bulletin: Mindstorms/Technic Contests

(...) This sounds interesting. A couple questions though... 1. Will the balls be able to roll freely or will something be used to hold them in position? 2. Is the field divided into two halves, with an even distribution of balls in each half, or (...) (18 years ago, 28-Jun-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

RE: Scout vs RIS and reverse engineering and Byte Codes

(...) I'm just guessing. If it has the upload data opcode, why not unlock firmware? On the RCX, there needed to be a specical code "Do you byte...etc" to allow the firmware to be "unlocked" and executed from 0x8000 hex. Now, the trick was to monitor (...) At the end of the installation process, the software runs "chmod -R 777" on the contents of the folder into which you have decided to (...) (18 years ago, 5-Jul-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Hello Steve, (...) FreeLUG will be here :-) We hope to have NXT in France before the date of competition, to learn how to use it. See you at Billund, JLB (18 years ago, 27-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics.events)

You are correct. I did not measure them correctly. The balls are 2". They are the duplo balls that come in the FLL and NXT kits. Sorry for the confusion, Bryan (18 years ago, 26-Jun-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: IR Tower not working when downloading firmware

No! Unless you need two RCXs - and that's a different question ;) Donwloading the firmware seems to be the most "stressful" exercise of the tower/RCX link. The download functions offered include a high speed mode and normal mode. The tower and RCX (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jan-03, to lugnet.robotics)

RE: problem downloading srec file to RCX

(...) Ok, the first thing I would do is that the known good firmware (firm0309.lgo) loads with all of the tools that you are interested in. The next thing is that any custom image you put in the RCX may or may not respond to the delelte firmware (...) (25 years ago, 26-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

I've uploaded release 3.3.7.1 of BricxCC to my website. This adds a couple new features and fixes a few minor bugs. 1. Built-in MIDI conversion to NQC, MindScript, LASM, C, or Pascal.   Re: Interesting BrickOS Timing Results

This was a terrific analysis. It's not surprizing that current implementation hogs so much CPU time. If all four A/D channels are scanned every 150 us then the A/D interrupt is occuring every 37.5 us since each A/D channel generates its own (...)
