  RE: installation problem!

(...) I've only verified pbForth being uploaded using the commandline version of NQC. (...) This is good. Has anyone else out there tried RCXCC to upload the pbForth firmware???? (...) Ummmm, I think if you use NQC command line, the counter only goes to 1300 or so. I wonder 1f RCXCC is reading the SRECORD file and padding it to 16384 bytes. I wonder if it is actually loading the old firmware. I wonder.... Cheers, Ralph (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

RE: Tactical Robot - A robot that play a board game REALLY!!!

(...) original LEGO firmware can be busted wide open when you look at alternative firmware. In Francesco's case, packaging a C library for everyone is a big step forward. Many of you may remember that Kekoa's original C interface to the ROM was done (...) (25 years ago, 5-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

RE: How much memory finally? ADDENDUM

(...) There is no user memory from 0x4000 to 0x8000 - It's all ROM space but it might not be used. I look at things in terms of replacement firmware, and the RCX is very flexible in this regard. The RAM for replacement firmware starts at 0x8000. (...) (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Windows NT Success Story!

I'm pleased to announce that the NT boxes in our computer science lab has LegOS installed and running under Cygwin! I'd like to share this success story in the hope that it might help those who are still battling the Redmond Behemoth. In our lab we (...) (25 years ago, 8-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Using Servos with the RCX - Yes!

Hi all, I've finally got my RCX servo driver circuit working. It was actually working months ago but I couldn't get the servo to stop jittering. Then I swapped in a different servo, and it worked like a champ! (URL) Before you get all excited, the (...) (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

Learning a new language can be a bit tricky, and I won't go into the details of why I think it's a good idea to learn different languages to get the benefit of different ways of thinking about problems...oops, don't get me (...) (...) Ben, I have to go back over the changes, but does legOS sample at the same rate as the standard firmware? The standard rate is about 333hz, so debouncing would likely reduce the effective rate to 166hz, which limits the max rate at which the (...) (25 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics)

At DM 109, even the Droid kit is a good deal, not even counting the (...) (25 years ago, 6-Apr-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
