| Hey, how's your ping pong ball shooter working? I've spent so much time monkeying with the firmware I haven't actually built many robots. | Is there a way to do the equivalent to SetRandomSeed() with 1.x firmware (3.09) which--if I understand correctly--is only available for RCX2 (3.28)? Maybe some kind of low level code to set the appropriate memory address? Thanks, Rik. (24 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

| Our FIRST LEGO League team has an RCX that frequently loses it's memory and firmware and needs to be reloaded. However I have not yet personally caught it in the act of forgetting. | (...) It really is. I do think somebody made a mistake specific to the rotation sensor, though. I haven't decided yet whether it's the firmware, the sensor, or just the overall mechanism. | So the 1.5 Mindstorm PC based programming software (does it have a real name, to minimize confusion?) that uses the drag and drop based GUI should work fine with the 2.0 firmware. It stores its core information in a 16K ROM, which is loaded into a 32K RAM, which is cleared out when you remove the batteries. When you download a new program or new (...) | (...) No - I'm a Linux user and *none* of the software on the CD would work for me anyway. You don't need spirit.ocx for NQC programming.
