Re: LinuxPPC and "No response from RCX" problem

(...) Perhaps timing is a problem. Try: nqc -t 1000 -raw 10 This forces a longer (1 second) timeout per packet instead of the dynamic retry timing. Is the output any different? Echo is coming back from the tower, which means communication between (...) (24 years ago, 4-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: Firmware file version?

(...) The first line of each file should be unique, and you should be able to use it to infer the version number. At least the first line is unique for firm0309.lgo and firm0325.lgo. You can actually decode the lines if you like -- they are header (...) (24 years ago, 26-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

have you tried fresh batteries in both the TOWER & rcx??? do you have a good connection at your serial port? do you have a second RCX to try to d/l firmware so you can limit the problem to hardware, software, or transmitter? -- Chris Lego Walker now (...)   Re: IR download broken

So what causes it to 'forget' the firmware. Doesn't it store it in Flash memory? Or does it require batteries to be installed all the time? Matt (24 years ago, 16-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Remote Control Internals?

Is there any tech. documentation/FAQ's for the remote control? Basically I need to know what it sends to the RCX. Does it send special opcodes, or regular RCX 1 commands?
