Matt, I discovered that the IR LED's and detector on my serial tower was located higher than I expected and pointed upward somewhat. Hello John, Worked fine for me, with the following setup: RCX2.0, USB tower, BricxCC 3.3.7.6, firm0328.lgo, Win2000. Distance between tower and brick: 20 cm. Download time: 1'25" I tried also 50 cm away (worked) and 1 m away (failed). Philo (21 years ago, 3-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

I don't have a Mac box... But there are quite a bit of Intel users have similar problems. By any chance your Panther box has hyperthreading turned on. For the Intel users, the final verdict is hyperthreading feature being the culprit. Some (...) (20 years ago, 25-Apr-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
