Re: lego headquaters in enfeild conneticuit

(...) go? Back to 1972 when TLG first moved to Connecticut to start up a company owned operation in the USA, or back to 1961.... when Samsonite first got a Lego license from TLG and set up Lego shops in Colorado and Ontario to sell Lego to the USA (...)   Re: Lego and other brand trademarks

(...) Ironically the very first trademarked items came out 50 years ago this year. That would be the Esso Service Station accessories. In 1955, with the advent of the Town Plan TLG produced 3 Esso trucks (#1250/#250 Esso Barrel Tanker, #1251/#251 (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jul-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: Lego and other brand trademarks

(...) Good point Dave, I have never seen any acknowledgement of trademarks on any of the old 50's-70's Esso or Shell items. Ditto for the 1:87 cars/trucks. No box or brochures (that came with these items) had acknowledgements either. On the 1:87 (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jul-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: How should Lego items be dated?

(...) On a followup note, I do use the catalog year for new items in my Lego CD, but for when Lego came to a certain country, I use the actual year. For example, Lego may have come to the USA in the autumn of 1961 (1962 catalog) but I still would (...) (19 years ago, 15-Jul-05, to lugnet.general)

How should Lego items be dated?

Eric Strand and I had this discussion a few weeks ago, and today Allan Bedford reminded me of this discussion. How should Lego items be dated? As we all know the Lego year goes from autumn to the next autumn, based on the Lego catalog of the (...) (19 years ago, 15-Jul-05, to lugnet.general)

First Year for Minifigs is 1978

Allan Bedford just asked me what the first year for minifigs was. According to Lugnet/Peeron/Bricklink they say 1977. But that may not be correct... Some of the sets that show the 1977 minifigs are USA sets #588 (Police Station), #575 (Coast Guard (...) (19 years ago, 15-Jul-05, to lugnet.general)

If so, then there may be hope for the future of Lugnet. I (...) (19 years ago, 18-Jul-05, to lugnet.admin.general)

And the building contest is for building in the Miniland, Minifig, and Micro Scales. But (...) (19 years ago, 19-Jul-05, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

And then grouping the designs together.... As a town person, I am disappointed that (...) (19 years ago, 21-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.dear-lego, FTX)

  Completing the Lugnet Database....

For what it is worth, I do hope that Lugnet maintains some sort of existence into the future, including the Lugnet database.   LEGO Errors

I was looking at a few old Lego catalogs, and I came across some errors that were made 25-30 years ago. Here's 2 examples.... Error #1) the 1977 German catalog....   Re: Any 1970's Canadian Lego Catalogs?

(...) Yes Oliver, it sounds very interesting!!!! The first one V-1869 is likely the 1963-64 Canadian Samsonite catalog. The LE-21-66 is the 1966 Canadian Samsonite Spare Parts list.
