Re: Griswold Building - Detroit, Michigan

Most people don't realize that before the depression Detroit was percentage wise the fastest growing city in the world, and surprisingly has the 3rd largest collection of pre-depression skyscrapers in the country (after New York and Chicago)!!   Re: LEGO Ambassadors Status Report - Summer 2007

Well it's time for my semi-annual rant on LEGO Windows... I do hope the LEGO Ambassadors Issues List contains the problem of there NOT being a LEGO window system since 1987 (when most of the 9 classic LEGO windows were retired). With the worst kept (...)   Re: Plate 2x6 in year 1966?

And if that's not confusing enough... I also have 2x6 plates with "Pat. Pend." removed from the mold in red, white, blue, yellow and black. Some of the plates had the "Pat. Pend." removed from within one of the circles, others at the edge of the (...) (17 years ago, 31-Aug-07, to lugnet.inv, lugnet.parts)

Wow, What's funny is that John is purchasing some old plates from me right now, so this discussion is rather Deja Vu! John, does that gray plate have Pat. Pend. on the underside? Of the mint plates you're getting from me 6 are of the 2x6 size WITH (...) (17 years ago, 31-Aug-07, to lugnet.inv, lugnet.parts)

Sale- 1961 #717 Junior Constructor LEGO Catalog Model Never Sold to Public

When LEGO was first sold in the USA in 1961 and in Canada in 1962, there was a LEGO house model in the 1961-62 catalogs that was NEVER sold as shown in the very first USA/Canada Samsonite LEGO catalogs.   Re: Would it be a good idea if LEGO made metal axles?

(...) Yes most of the 1970-76 European style gear sets (#800, #801, #802, #810, #811, #812, #813 and #814) had mainly those milky white axles. The metal ones that came in a few of these sets was for use with LEGO motors. Cheers, Gary Istok (17 years ago, 18-Dec-07, to lugnet.general)

(...) Those old 2x8 bricks happen to be Samsonite Lego (USA/Canada) bricks made between 1964-70. For some reason the quality of the Samsonite molds was worse than those of European Lego. (...) Thanks Niels, I agree that the last time Lego made a 1x3x2 window in white (in a set) was in 1970. However, I have 2 examples of this window in white that have no window "sills". This means that they were produced after 1972. I just found the (...) (20 years ago, 9-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)
