Re: Chemical Tanker Cars - Rolling Stock

I respect James Mathis for his great construction method finds and MOC ideas, but I believe that the original credit for this type of tanker design should go to Steve Barile, who together with Dwayne Towell is the co-owner of custom set (...)   Four new MINI models from the Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica Universe

Greetings all, it's been a while since I posted something new. Some real-life issues kept me busy, including a flat movement to another city. Now it's time to come back to building. :-) While most of you might know me for building Star Wars MINI (...)   Re: Improving the adult image of LEGO

(...) I think it's all in your attitude. And by "you" I don't just mean you, Scott, but AFOLs in general. If you talk about it with confidence and pride, people tend to respect that. If you talk about it with any timidity or shame in your voice, (...) (16 years ago, 16-Sep-08, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Dark Side of the Moonbase

Before you look at this MOC, I suggest putting on a little music. I suggest something debaucherous. Perhaps 'Girls, Girls, Girls', 'Wild Side', or 'Dr. Feelgood' by Motley Crue? I'll wait while you put that on... Still waiting... Ok, back now? Good! (...) (16 years ago, 21-Sep-08, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build, lugnet.space, FTX) !

(...) I have to agree with your assessment about doing it for the love of it rather than making any money. I'm quite certain I made something close to $1-2 an hour after all the accounting was done. Factor in CD sales and maybe I tripled my wage. (...) (16 years ago, 18-Sep-08, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Improving the adult image of LEGO

(...) Honestly, my impression of the Lego hobbyist community is that there was a boom in growth of AFOL purchasing around 1998-2000. My honest-to-god guess is that AFOLs weren't worth marketing to back in, say, 1992, but we WERE worth marketing to (...) (16 years ago, 18-Sep-08, to lugnet.general)
