This was posted to RTL by Martin: Today I managed to buy the new Technic Battle Droid (8001) from Toymaster in Leicester for £20.00 The model is smart and there are also building instructions for an AT-ST too. The Battle Droid curls up just like the (...) (25 years ago, 15-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: So explain to me why Lego UK dont do trains!

Actually, looking at www.lego.com its hard to determine what lego train should be available in the UK. Though the printed catalogue only has the 4561 express and rails, on the "european" web site there is the whole range of trains. I asked lego some (...) (25 years ago, 15-Oct-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Best selection of parts to mess around with

(...) Well, if I may jump in here to defend myself-- my only point is, if it's to what I think Lar is referring, is that I think scientists today (in general) think they've got a pretty good idea as to what's up in the universe. I say they don't (...) (25 years ago, 15-Oct-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: What´s new at www.lego.com ?

(...) Oh, and Javascript seems to be a requirement. There are *NO* <NOSCRIPT> tags anywhere. This just after a glaring security hole was discovered in BOTH Netscape and IE. Grrr.... >:-( Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 15-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Minifigure Torso Generator

Do you mean the mechanic in the X-wing set? The X-wing pilot torso has been done. General feedback on your torsos: I agree with Steve that these are pretty good for patterns based on scans. They do come out quite large (the police torso would be the (...) (25 years ago, 15-Oct-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Best Buy

I was waiting to get my Minidisc Player cleaned at Best Buy last night, and I saw Mindstorms there! Unusual for Best Buy to carry that, it was still 199.99, but interesting, none the less! Scott S. Michael: If you're going to be traveling around Boston by "T," you'll want to get a day pass. (A one-day, unlimited use pass is $5.50--a very good deal. 3-day passes are also available.) You can grab these usually at any subway station, although (...) (25 years ago, 15-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Blue Hopper Buyout price, trade goods price

(...) Are you shure that the 1/2 connector w/stud is rare? I probably have over 100 and I don't have a zillion technic sets. I think I most mine came from multiples of 8277 and/or 8250. I thought they came in just about every Technic set? KL (25 years ago, 15-Oct-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: So explain to me why Lego UK dont do trains!

(...) Yes I got that impression too. But why no trains in the UK catalogue, why none in usual shops? Why have Lego taken what is clearly a conscious decision NOT to allow us access to the full train range? There has to be someone in Lego who said (...) (25 years ago, 15-Oct-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: FS Grey Bricks

(...) I knew this would come up and should have mentioned it. I corrected the cheapness of 1x1 and 1x2 to lower the price of the 2x8 and the 2x10. Which is why all four are off slightly. (25 years ago, 15-Oct-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Flex Cables (Does anyone have the 8485 CCII)

Thanks Rob, The type I and II connectors can be seen at: (URL) flex cables are also shown with the "pssible" lengths for the 8485.
