  Re: Dacta castle

(...) The 1x6x2 arched fence and the 2x4x2 tripple rounded top pieces appear in Classic 3+ sets. The fence appears to be a relatively new piece while the tripple rounded top piece is several years old (and appears in Freestyle sets). The tripple (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.castle)

(...) Here's one satisfied Glen Tannenbaum customer. Nice service. Another nice Dacta set is the roof bricks pack, this is actually 5 copies of the european red low slope roof pack which comes with the convex corners. (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.castle)

  RE: 180° IR Eyeball

I believe there is a problem with the theory used in the article. He talks about using the Radio Shack emitter/detectors to do some 180 deg Detection. He's talking about using multiple emitters and detectors as proximity detectors. (much like using (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  New silly axle

(...) It's 5.5 studs long. 4 studs of crossaxle, 1/2 stud (minus the width of the collar?) wide crossaxle-diameter round axle, a larger-diameter collar (as on the stud end of a 1/2-peg), and another stud length of axle. (...) Well, yes. And they're a tad bit overdone, in my opinion. The 1998 low profile wheels, as in 8428 and 8462, look pretty good as motorcycle wheels, but for a car, they look quite odd, I think.
