  New Ray-trace of my B-wing.

I have been fooling around with LDraw and POV-Ray trying to familiarize myself with some of their features. In doing so I came up with a new Ray-Tracing I like. This is basically the same B-Wing as before with some minor changes to the S- Foil Guns (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Standardized Inventory File Format?

(...) Are you speaking for yourself? If so, explain why you'd rather use some other programming language system in place of Perl. Remember, we're trying to design a standard that will work for lots of people who aren't here to represent themselves. (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.db.inv)

  Re: Lego at Gerf.Org

(...) That possibility, or that I >think< that? ;-) (...) When I read a URL that conists primarily of words, I instinctively try to read it as a sentence instead of as placeholders for a string of numbers. <shrug> That's the language I grew up with. (...)   Re: LEGO Stereogram (see it in 3D!)

(...) I'm just using a "regular" digital camera -- a Ricoh RDC-300 w/ a 4mm fixed focus lens. The nice thing about the digital camera is that it doesn't cost you anything to mess up your shots. I placed the subject 12-14 inches away and placed the (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

Re: Well this gives a new meaning to Spam...

(...) Oh, didn't mean for it to be taken seriously... more of those 'wouldn't it be funny if...' things... people getting their just desserts, etc. I don't really think it'd be particularly a nice thing to do.. I just would find it mildly amusing... (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: So?

(...) 6:00 PM is too early for those who have jobs and are coming from outside Cambridge. Remember, they have to fight rush hour traffic, find a parking space, and then take the T and/or walk a long distance (depending on where they park). 7:00 PM (...)   Re: Lego at Gerf.Org

(...) Really? That's pretty sad. (...) I assume that Blacktron is a trademark of TLG. (It's definitely "their" word, in any case.) So yeah, assuming that lego.blacktron.org belongs to TLG makes sense. But (and I mean this in all the best way) if you (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Lego at Gerf.Org

(...) And, to beat the proverbial deceased large solid-hoofed herbivorous mammal a bit more, they _do_ say that what they're concerned with is confusion over just who owns/sponsors the site. It only takes an elementary understanding of the system to (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Good vs. Evil

(...) Don't forget the Dark Forest girl with the bangs, the princess from the Mountain Fortress, the maiden from the Maiden's Cart - and do you *really* know what gender a classic smiley is? Maybe there's long, flowing hair bound up under the (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Lego at Gerf.Org

(...) Techinically. But I think it's safe to say that TLG was not aiming their fair play document at internet design experts. They were aiming it at laymen. I suspect (but can't prove) that if you ask the average joe in the street what at internet (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Lego at Gerf.Org

(...) Maybe what they mean is simply 'lego' appearing anywhere between the initial '(URL) and the first standalone '/', i.e. (URL) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: RIS 1.5

(...) You are correct. The picture on the Technica site looks like the part I'm describing (as far as I can tell from that angle) and the description matches as well. There must be some new exciting connector piece that they've got up their sleeve. (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  12v trains & track / 4.5v track

The two main sets consist of the train, track and engine driver only, i.e. no passengers, loads, platforms, road vehicles, etc. The speed regulators are available at no extra cost if required (240VAC @ 50/60Hz), but they will obviously increase (...)   Re: conical gear

(...) I'm specifically comparing it to 8422 Circuit Shock Racer, from a few years ago. The new motorcycle is really a lot less cleverly designed, in my opinion. I had a lot less fun putting it together -- something I usually enjoy with 84-- series (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Lego at Gerf.Org

(...) Sure, an "Internet Address" consists of a number. So that's pretty meaningless. Or, if you want to interpret more broadly, than maybe they mean URL. Uh-oh then: <URL:(URL) or <URL:(URL) or even <URL:(URL) are against the rules. I don't think (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.publish)
