Re: Who here in Legoland has a Cable modem?

NEC has a 21" Screen I believe that is like $5000 and is awesome. Saw one at a presentation from NEC showing their wares and they had Quake II running on it. Good test of a screen in my book. Thought my wife would shoot me if I spent $5000 on a flat (...) (25 years ago, 21-Sep-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

  Re: Less-Common Colors

(...) I have to agree. If TLG wants to be non-violent, no guns anywhere. On the other hand, I think maybe they could draw a line with things like modern day weapons. I think they can give the police hand-held pistols, and still do without (...) (25 years ago, 21-Sep-99, to lugnet.faq)

Re: Who here in Legoland has a Cable modem?

(...) I haven't seen anything, anywhere, at any price, that can be described as a _good 22"_ flat panel display. Seems like anything bigger than 18" is low-res, and is sold for use in large-meeting presentations. Do 22" monsters actually exist? (...)   Re: Less-Common Colors

<snip> (...) You will also notice that there are not any real hand-held blasters in Star Wars. The closest they have come to blasters is a Classic Space camera thingy for the Rebel Soldier in the Snowspeeder set and Megaphones with trans-red 1x1 (...) (25 years ago, 21-Sep-99, to lugnet.faq)

Re: Who here in Legoland has a Cable modem?

(...) That's what I'd be running at if I had a *real* monitor, instead of this crummy old Nanao FlexScan. What a waste of 21 diagonal inches. ;) Steve (25 years ago, 21-Sep-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

  Re: Less-Common Colors

(...) Sorry, I didn't mean to imply it was a direct quote. The words in quotes are my attempt to re-state what I perceived to be the long-term reasoning from TLG. Steve (25 years ago, 21-Sep-99, to lugnet.faq)

Cool mech model in July/August mania mag

My son just got enrolled in the Mania mag subscription and got the July/August issue (along with September/October).   Re: **Bad Trader??**

The problem here is that there is an inherent weakness in the Internet process. That is how do you compensate for emergency situations? Someone could die in a traffic accident, and end up having their name dragged thru the mud on the internet, (...) (25 years ago, 21-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)

What do I have to do to get a URL update on the CSOTW banners?

I've been e-mailing the banner submission e-mail, plus leaving LugNet feedback to get my URL updated in the Cool Site of The Week banner ads, but after a few weeks, I'm still not getting anywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions? (25 years ago, 21-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)

  OVER 1 AMP

Oh yeah, one more thing, how about connecting a 5 ohm resistor in series with a DC motor and there are 2 amps flowing, then the resistor is dissipating 20 watts of heat. Now I could have a higher value for the resistor, like 7, 10 ohms, I think that (...) (25 years ago, 21-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
