  Re: Query about tank-treads

While I couldn't find this on the actual pitsco-legodacta.com website, i did find a scan of a catalog that had this part: (URL) *HAVE* seen it on the site, i just can't seem to find it at the moment. But you can give them a call. Troy Billy D Arnold (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)

Hi, Does anybody know where I can get a good amount of the snap-together tank-like treads such as the ones in #8851. I am trying to gather all the parts I need to make an M1 Abrams tank. I am not really interested in the set/sets that contain them, (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: Unique Gear Part - what is it 2.5 /5.0 in Motor Kit

(...) Nope, that's the purpose of the gear. I think the Technic Element Registry calls it a "clutch gear". I find it handy to have around. It slips pretty easily, so you need to gear down after it to get any reasonable amount of torque. Even so, I (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Motor/generator efficency (was Re: Micro Scout can run off its own motor)

(...) I saw this when Lego was showing off mindstorms here in Syd. THEY (lego) claimed the setup was almost 100% efficent. i.e. one rotation of generator = one rotation of motor.   Unique Gear Part - what is it 2.5 /5.0 in Motor Kit

What is the gear marked 2.5 /5.0 that comes with the Motor kit ? The gear looks lie a 24 tooth, but is white and a bit thicker, and has a grey hub inside that turns. As far as I can tell, the point is if the gear jams/binds or the object trys (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

RCX 1.5 kit still ships RCX 1.0 - no hardware changes

Recently I asked LEGO Mindstorms Technical Support if I there was an upgrade kit from 1.0 to 1.5, and they said there was ($25, available Oct 15/99) However, I was still uncertain if there were any physical or hardware changes in the RCX itself. (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Mc Donald's Lego

Ditto in Plainwell - they (McD's) usually only have a box/case of one or two different toys/junk at hand, though are good at searching for any (having two boys, they don't usually want the same toy).
