Re: Best of Steam - Brickworld 2007

(...) Thanks for the compliments, Brian, but I just want to make clear that, short of bank-rolling these MOCs, I can take no credit for their design or creation! I merely bask in the glow:-) JOHN (17 years ago, 29-Jun-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: BW - the truth was Re: Brickworld was a Blast!

(...) That's funny, because the first thing I ever heard from you was when you (even before I realized that you were you!) screamed out Thursday night, causing the entire hall to go silent. Knowing you now, I realize that that was classic Janey:-) (...) (17 years ago, 29-Jun-07, to lugnet.events.brickworld, FTX)

Re: New Contest - Name the LifeLites Lbrick

(...) (I am cross-posting to .trains and .town because I think they would benefit from this post) Folks, Rob was kind enough to allow us to place his new product, the Lbrick (as it is currently named:-) into my emergency vehicle, and it was nothing (...)   Re: Building equality one female minifig at a time.

(...) Per Peeron, yes, all colors of blank flesh head DO exist (I actually own the medium flesh color myself). Plus there is always Brasso to remove print from heads :) (17 years ago, 29-Jun-07, to lugnet.general)

Re: Best of Steam - Brickworld 2007

(...) It was great to meat every one and see all the wonderful approaches to modeling steam in LEGO. (...) An engine as big as a Big Boy can be difficult to get running. This one ran very well around the track and had good detail. (...) Every thing (...) (17 years ago, 29-Jun-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

New Contest - Name the LifeLites Lbrick

OK, in case you haven't found out by now, Brickmodder Labs has been rather quiet as of late working on the latest and greatest line of products, one of which is a new modular lighting system made especially for you to use in your MOCs to aid in (...) (17 years ago, 29-Jun-07, to lugnet.announce)

  Re: Orangetron micro capital spaceship

(...) Schmooveness, CM Bob. Spotlighted. I think you should cover up the studs, and add more greebs. And don't forget the three colour rule when you're choosing your colour scheme. I know it's only microscale, and it is a capital ship, but I think (...) (17 years ago, 29-Jun-07, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX) !

tan baseplates needed anyone up for a trade?

Hey all, I am in need of a large quantity of tan baseplates but rather than spend my entire next paycheck on bricklink I’m hoping I might be able to work out a trade for most of what I need. Currently I am in need of 56 32x32 "or equivalent" tan (...) (17 years ago, 29-Jun-07, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Progressing from RCX to NXT

SHORT VERSION Can anyone point me in the direction of some simple NXT models, preferably of fun things like vehicles, that a smart rising 4th grader can build on his own, that will inspire him to explore NXT? LONGER VERSION My son is 9 1/2. We gave (...) (17 years ago, 29-Jun-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: Building equality one female minifig at a time.

(...) Just a thought to add on that point; The cost of a few discarded figs is minuscule if it means more girls are buying lego sets. Imagine the profit to be made if both genders could share the fun of system. Profit... cha-ching. (17 years ago, 28-Jun-07, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Custom firmware crashing on boot

(...) The modifications are slightly more complex than simply replacing c_cmd.c, but that's basically the only NXTGCC file that I've modified. The new VM is copied mostly verbatim from another program, and is contained in a new file, pcodesim.c. (...) (17 years ago, 28-Jun-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt.nxthacking)

Best of Steam - Brickworld 2007

Posted on behalf of Brian Williams If you couldn't attend Brickworld 2007, then here are pictures of some of the finest Lego steam locomotives found running there this past weekend. Each shows the clever use of parts and is a labor of love for the (...) (17 years ago, 28-Jun-07, to lugnet.trains) !!

Re: Building equality one female minifig at a time.

(...) LOL! You reveal your own ABS sexism by assuming that the woman would have to be decapitated! Why not yank off the man's head instead? Or why not include a headless body with the pair of heads alongside? Dave! (17 years ago, 28-Jun-07, to lugnet.dear-lego, FTX)

Re: Building equality one female minifig at a time.

(...) I don't know how I feel about including a decapitated woman's head in every LEGO set. Doesn't seem to send the right message about gender equality. -Lenny (17 years ago, 28-Jun-07, to lugnet.dear-lego, FTX)

Re: How much does a weight brick weigh?

(...) Easiest place to look is BrickLink, which has a lot of the weight data: (URL) to them: Weight Brick 2x6x2 = 53.3 grams 2x4 Brick = 2.32 grams Of course, as I recall BrickLink weights were slightly on the high side-- not sure how that affects (...) (17 years ago, 28-Jun-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: How much does a weight brick weigh?

(...) I did some looking around BrickLink and found the what their scales read for the 2x6x2 weight brick and a 2x4 brick- 2x6x2 = 53.3 grams 2x4 = 2.32 grams So... 53.3/2.32 = just under 23 (22.9 something) Meaning it takes 23 2x4's to equal one (...) (17 years ago, 28-Jun-07, to lugnet.trains)
