Re: The Wreck of the Estrella

(...) Once again excellent work. Been meaning to pick up a few copies of this set, now i definantly need to. Looks just like a national geographic shoot (19 years ago, 19-Apr-07, to lugnet.aquazone, FTX)

  Re: LDD slug models

Just a follow-up to add my latest incarnation of the yard slug, this time in Canadian National colors. You see them working in tandem a lot with EMD GP road-switchers in CN'S larger sorting yards. (URL) I've added a version that is LEGO's standard (...) (19 years ago, 23-Apr-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: L3P On Strike

(...) Thanks Lars, Rosco and Tim. At last, I found what was wrong. I ran msconfig and discovered a junk character presented as a "wide pipe" (or black rectangle) at the end of LDRAWDIR line. It is also visible in original MS Notepad, but not in (...) (19 years ago, 23-Apr-07, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: L3P On Strike

(...) If your C:\Windows\ldraw.ini contains: [LDraw] BaseDirectory=f:\LDraw it should not be necessary to set the LDRAWDIR environment variable also. Though (URL) might give the opposite impression L3P first uses LDRAWDIR if set, otherwise it looks (...) (19 years ago, 23-Apr-07, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Attempt at corner cafe

I purchased the corner cafe directions and tried to build it with parts I had. Aside from colors, the problems that I encountered were mainly with windows. The first floor windows are 6 bricks tall unlike the 5 tall windows I have. Similarly the (...) (19 years ago, 22-Apr-07, to lugnet.town) !!

  Re: L3P On Strike

(...) In Windows XP, they should be set by Control Panel / System / Advanced / Environment variables. I put mine in the system variable section. Earlier versions of Windows may be different, although I seem to remember it was always similar. ROSCO (19 years ago, 22-Apr-07, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: LDD - MOC Steam Engine inspired by Streamlined Hudson

After some work this weekend, my LDD 'Streamlined Hudson' has improved quite a bit. I scrapped the first one and created another MOC's with two stylings; a Dreyfuss and the the Empire State Express. The Empire State Express is the one that I am most (...) (19 years ago, 22-Apr-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: monorail maintenance?

(...) Monorail trains just run slow. Just how slow depends on your perspective. I just ran two sets of monorail at the NASM (National Air and Space Museum) yesterday. The new monorail set I just acquired last weekend seemed to move a bit faster than (...) (19 years ago, 22-Apr-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Controlling trains with NXT?

(...) Indeed, Steve Hassenplug & I did exactly this at BrickFest 2005 with the GBC trains - we had two trains running around a single loops, but in this case used four isolated sections so that each side fo the loop was under the complete control of (...)   Dutch Koploper

After a (too) long hiatus of train building, I am back. I build the Dutch "Koploper". (URL) I build 4 head (=engine) sections, and 4 passenger cars, I will take it to NMRA 2007 for its inaugural run. A pilot version ran at the GTE Columbus show, but (...) (19 years ago, 22-Apr-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: L3P On Strike

(...) Yes, it did the trick! I just pasted "SET LDRAWDIR=F:\LDraw" into the batch file and L3P went nicely back to work. Now I have to figure out how to remind Windows please to use its enviroment variables... Thanks again! /Tore (19 years ago, 22-Apr-07, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: L3P On Strike

(...) Sometimes Windows seems to have a hard time remembering environment variables in DOS boxes (I'm sure there's some long, complicated and stupid system to it). Maybe add something to set them to the batch files and see if it works. Tim (19 years ago, 22-Apr-07, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: L3P On Strike

(...) Thanks for your quick reply. Yes, it is my method of marking that the file represents one animation frame. '@' is a legal filename character and has worked before, but to be 100% sure, I removed it from the batch file as well as from the model (...) (19 years ago, 22-Apr-07, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Tiny Truck

(...) Thanks for the reply! Microscale is also not my main thing, but once in a while it's nice to explore a little in different areas, to broaden the horizon. Nate (19 years ago, 22-Apr-07, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

  Re: L3P On Strike

--snip-- (...) Is the above '@' verbatim? Could it be causing the problem? Tim (19 years ago, 22-Apr-07, to lugnet.cad.ray)
