software debouncing (was Re: touch sensors aren't just switches (was Re: ideas for a RIS 2.0

(...) The way I debounce is by using a simulated RC network ("RC" stands for resistor-capacitor). RC networks exhibit a "decaying exponential" response to an input waveform. Here is an example of how to simulate an RC network: averagereading = 0; (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Touch Sensor as a Switch

I played around with sensors and wires, and came up with a way to use the touch sensor as a switch. See my post at lugnet.cad.dat.ideas (URL). Unfortunately, even when the touch sensor is pressed, it still has a significant amount of resistance, so (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: touch sensors aren't just switches (was Re: ideas for a RIS 2.0

(...) That obviously depends on what type of physical design is used for the switch. Some switches are not capable of bouncing the way you describe because there is no impact or acceleration during contact (example: slide switches that move leaf (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Touch Sensor as a Switch  [DAT]

Here a touch sensor is used as a switch. See my post at lugnet.robotics for more details. Electric plates of the same color belong to the same wire. The green plate is the input. The blue plate is the output, in reversed polarity. Cheers, Hao-yang (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas)

  Re: Train doors and windows

Sorry, I wasn't trying to ask what people wanted I was just curious about how many people were talking with Christer, and if anyone who posts to this group knew Christer since I had not seen him around before. Christopher (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Train doors and windows

No more posts on this topic please. I don't want to go into too much detail but I have strong reason to believe the following to be true (am I certain? No. but I have strong reason) - This is a legitimate thing. Someone within TLG has received (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Brief summary - 8/21 meeting

(...) Very cool! Anyone take pictures? (...) I'll be there! (I know, I said that last time... :-) Any ideas as to a location? I can volunteer my house in northwest Austin (near intersection of 183 Spicewoods Springs/McNeil). (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.loc.us.tx.aus)

  Re: De Bouwsteen club

  Climbing robot?

I've seen a ROBOLAB video where someone had made a bot which could climb glass doors with suction cups and pneumatics, and Fudd has got his stair climber... but has anyone made a robot that can climb a pole of some sort? i.e. straight up? I have (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Robot related books...?

I really liked Ramblin' Robots by Ingrid Wickelgren. I learned some general things about robots - even though the book was written for teenagers. A book aimed at younger kids is Robotics by T. Potter, lots of pictures and stuff. Beyond kids stuff, I (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: wishing upon a star

(...) Taking that to the ultimate suggests even the TLG part number should not be the key (which of course is already a known issue if you want to account for color and/or printing). (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

Re: Minifig-scale standing Droideka (SW:TPM Destroyer Droid)  [DAT]

(...) Update! I never liked the design of the head; it was too dang wide. Plus, the three "eye probe thingers" didn't look right, and its pose sometimes made it difficult to distinguish it from a piece of Star Trek furniture. This new one has a (...)   Re: Check out my minifig-scale Droideka

(...) Oh, wow! Thanks, man! :-, (Perhaps more than an) FYI, I have modified the Droideka head slightly, making it one stud wide so that it tapers at the front. IMO, the new face has a look more consistent with the baddie in the movie. I'll publish (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.build)

Ben's Falcon update (was: Re: Minifig-Scale AT-AT update

Shaun, Sound really cool. That you actually got the head to articulate and the laser cannons to recoil is awesome! New developments on the Falcon.   Re: Check out my minifig-scale Droideka

I made a rotating model of your Droideka, its a 2mg avi file. I'll try to make it available on the web soon (or my private home server). It's a very cool model. Pat J (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.build)

  train doors and windows

I'm interested in buying some of these parts also. Is it asking to much to include 2972 (grey) to the list? (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: wishing upon a star

Yes, indeed, John is (as evah) right. Let me weigh in here as well... Putting meaning in keys is a sign of not very well seasoned designers, IMHO. A pretty strong principle of database design is NOT to let your key have business meaning. Get keys (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.db.brictionary)
