Re: NXT with 'RCX' rotation sensor

(...) Another option would be to use NBC which supports the old RCX sensors (if you have the proper adapter cable). John (20 years ago, 20-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: NXT - anyone sighted these in stores?

(...) Myer has 20% off Lego from today (Wednesday 20th Sept) until 8th October, but none of these in stock in Hobart. They may come in during the sale if they haven't already sold, I didn't ask. While I'm here, off the topic of the NXT but still on (...) (20 years ago, 20-Sep-06, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Rocket Turret from Dune2000

Hi all. I have at last come up with a(n?) MOC that I feel is worthy of sharing! After disassembling my 8480 Space Shuttle (due to a broken gear that was impossible to replace without majoy disassembly anyway), I decided to try to recreate the rocket (...)   Re: Lincoln Logs with Ldraw : )

(...) Hey, Very cool. My grandparents had LL when I was growing up, so these bring back fond memories. I did hate those roofs, though. As I recall, if you just bumped the house all those slats would slide down. Hm, instead of Ldraw, wouldn't this be (...) (20 years ago, 20-Sep-06, to lugnet.cad)

Lincoln Logs with Ldraw : )

I finally got around to modeling the roof gable end parts (well one of them anyway) and the special roof slats that go with them in Ldraw. I've still got some cleaning up to do and I've still got to do the shorter gable end, but here's a teaser pic (...) (20 years ago, 20-Sep-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: NXT with 'RCX' rotation sensor

In article <J5uwH0.HyH@lugnet.com>, Eric Wijnsouw <sgtpeppermail@yahoo.com> writes (...) It is supported in the Educational version of the NXT software. Hopefully, now that the conversion cables are available from Lego Shop at Home, an update for (...) (20 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Jim Spaceborn?

(...) And be proactive? Pshaw! Actually, I guess I just assumed he was Danish and wouldn't speak English-- but from what I've heard about those crazy Danes, English is pretty common... Hmm... DaveE (20 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.books, lugnet.space)

  Re: NXT and Firmware

Thanks for the patch, but I solved the issue simply by trying a different computer. More of them gremlins that inhabit computer systems, I guess. Nasty little things... Andrew Meyer (20 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Pneumatic Hand

(...) Hi Andrew, I might be of help to you with the underactuated hand I constructed with pneumatics (2nd version) or geared 9V motors (1st version). It is very powerfull hand (when pumping up the pressure) even capable of holding a bottle of wine (...) (20 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Single-motor pneumatic compressor and actuator

I came up with a way to use a single motor to both supply air for a pneumatic cylinder and to control the cylinder. Details at (URL) Sivan (20 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Johnny 5

Instructions may come out in a book next year. I'll soon release some new software for JohnNXT. Cheers, Danny (20 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  Re: Jim Spaceborn?

Well Jaco, You'd better add it to your "Set-list". I did years ago. (URL) David, I knew about part two, as you can see it is also known in the database, but I had yet to see a good picture of the cover. Thanks for that. I have no idea about part (...)   Example of two-way NXT-to-PC communication

I created a robot that demonstrates two-way bluetooth communication between a PC and a NXT (and the limitations of such communication). A program on the PC receives input from a joystick and sends commands to the NXT. This controls the movement of (...) (20 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Jim Spaceborn?

(...) Most of the references I found online were European (mostly Danish?), which I sadly can't translate. I kind of wonder if the 3rd book was never released in English... DaveE (20 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.books, lugnet.space)

Re: NXT with 'RCX' rotation sensor

(...) I believe it is only supported in the educational software version, not the retail software version, at the moment at least. JB (20 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  NXT with 'RCX' rotation sensor

I connected a 'RCX' rotation sensor to my NXT. In the 'view' submenu you can test it, select port 1 to 4 and it works just fine. However programming with it isn't possible. When you select the 'rotation sensor' from the 'complete palette', you can (...) (20 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Love 'em! I checked out the rest of your Brickshelf, and I have to say that Smergle and the Nautalus are my favorite (I was almost a marine biologist...). Keep up the good work! -Josh (20 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.castle, FTX)
