Re: Bricksmith 1.3: Here's Looking at You, Kid

(...) The lines do end up with different thicknesses at different places due to the way they get drawn. As far as I know, thick lines in OpenGL are drawn such that a section perpendicular to the line direction is all drawn at the same Z depth. So (...)   Re: Truck Cab

(...) I like it, except the windshield seems too blocky. I'm not sure what to do about that using existing technology[1]. In my experience, the windshields on semi tractors are usually quite small and come in two pieces (left and right hand sides). (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.town)

  Re: 3747 - 2006 new variant

(...) Is this a functional difference? It looks like something (a 1x1 cone, maybe?) should be able to stud into the center of that square. The only 2006 sets I have with part 3747 (7893 and 6205) have the older version. (20 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.parts)

  Re: Brickshelf Find: Chubby GM

Interesting... On one hand, its well-built, and the design elements closely match the intended model. The torso is off, but that can easily be fixed. if the legs and arms were extended slightly, this would be absolutely amazing! On the other hand, (...)   Re: Brickshelf Find: Chubby GM

(...) The whole body shape seems better suited to the Scopedog or the appropriately named Fatty from VOTOMS. Although I guess the legs would need to be a bit beefier. Jeff (20 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  The Polar Express

(3 URLs) Post Mod Gallery> Here is my finished MOC of the Polar Express. I plan to populate it with minifigs, but that will come later when my bank account recovers.   Re: S@H raised shipping rates?

(...) So much for S@H ever getting any of my business on items I can get in the store. The only competitive advantage they had was that shipping on big orders was significantly less than sales tax would have been at a local retailer. Guess I'll only (...)   Re: Set renders in Spring 2006 S@H catalog?

(...) I've noticed this as well, in growing frequency on packaging as well as the catalogs. Like Disney, I think TLC has decided to forgo traditional artistic venues and concentrate their efforts in the CGI realm. During a PennLUG group trip to Toys (...)   S@H raised shipping rates?

Has anyone noted that LEGO S@H has raised their shipping rates? I noticed first in last week's catalog and confirmed on the web: (URL) much for saving on big orders. (20 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.market.shipping)

(...) If you've still had no luck with this, you may try the internet archive cache of his folder: (URL) I was just looking through this the other day. It's not all there, but a lot of it loads.   Brickshelf Find: Chubby GM

(URL) "Comic" has made a pleasingly plump version of everyone's favorite cannon-fodder mecha. Love those legs, and the head is wonderful. You could switch the chest out and it would be almost perfectly accurate. Soren (20 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Travis, Those images are very impressive! The lines are big and bold, instead of disappearing into the surface they are supposed to be outlining. They are instruction-grade. I will say, however, that MegaPOV does a better job doing stud outlining on (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

  Re: Does my RCX work?

(...) Hi Marc, After you put batteries in, press the on/off button, it should beep twice and show a little man beside the number 1. If you don't get that, you have problems they may be fixable, but you probably want to seek help from someone (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)

  Re: Does my RCX work?

(...) First, put batteries in it and turn it on. It'll beep 'ok'. Then attach a technic 9v motor to port A with a wire and press Run. If the motor spins, the brick has basic sanity, and it's worth your time and money to get a IR tower to program it (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)

  Does my RCX work?

Hello all. I know almost nothing about LEGO robotics, but my mom picked up an RCX 1.0 brick at a yard sale. I just have the brick - no accessories, no software. Before I go buying stuff to go with it, is there any way to tell if this thing even (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)
