Hello all. I know almost nothing about LEGO robotics, but my mom picked up an
RCX 1.0 brick at a yard sale. I just have the brick - no accessories, no
software.
Before I go buying stuff to go with it, is there any way to tell if this thing
even works? Thank you very much for your help.

| (...) First, put batteries in it and turn it on. It'll beep 'ok'. Then attach a technic 9v motor to port A with a wire and press Run. If the motor spins, the brick has basic sanity, and it's worth your time and money to get a IR tower to program it (...) (19 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)

| (...) Hi Marc, After you put batteries in, press the on/off button, it should beep twice and show a little man beside the number 1. If you don't get that, you have problems they may be fixable, but you probably want to seek help from someone (...) (19 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)
