Hello all. I know almost nothing about LEGO robotics, but my mom picked up an
RCX 1.0 brick at a yard sale. I just have the brick - no accessories, no
software.
Before I go buying stuff to go with it, is there any way to tell if this
thing even works? Thank you very much for your help.

Hi Marc,
After you put batteries in, press the on/off button, it should beep twice and
show a little man beside the number 1. If you dont get that, you have problems
- they may be fixable, but you probably want to seek help from someone familiar
with fixing electronic gadgets :)
It has some built in programs, but if you have no motors or sensors you cant
really check those. However when its displaying the digit 1, if you press
run, the mans legs should move apart, and little arrows above the A anc C
outputs should come on.
