  Re: New Mecha: The Cub

(...) -snip- (...) I remember. That set up is too cool. Did Bryce mention that the toes can apply pressure to the ground? Plus the tubes really add to the tension and channel the weight. Ubber cool and crazy looking. e (20 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New Mecha: The Cub

(...) -snip- (...) Ahh, like more of a toe, ball of your foot combo. I agree, more articulation in the feet is the future. Infact, I always wanted to build somthing that can haunch down like a Gargoyle peering over a ledge. e (20 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mecha: The Cub

(...) I made a foot with toes that have give to allow it to stand on the balls of its feet. Though it's all gussied up with Bionicle stuff the concept still works. The tubes provide a kind of spring/tendon type support. (URL) (20 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New Mecha: The Tribunal

(...) Hello Jon, (...) I'd sign too for all of the above. One question on the treads: is it possible to turn the feet so that all the treads are heading in one direction? I could't figure that out from the pics. (...) Once again I agree to 100%. (...) (20 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New Mecha: The Cub

(...) Hello Brian, if I got you right you're talking about something like this? (2 URLs) This one is using a single rotational click hinge. It was torne apart by the weight of the mecha I'm working on. (2 URLs) So the second uses double ball joints. (...) (20 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: GPLR - Portland LEGO Store Diorama

Re: Thoughts about the Target thief

(...) The response is simple. If they drive a car, and chances are they do, simply point to the most recent article about a drunken speeding motorist killing someone and say "I hope you aren't doing this too." There's a word for judging a group (...) (20 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Exporting Minifig to Maya - edgy model

(...) Hey, that sounds like really good idea though. Wonder why it didn't even cross my mind. I guess I wasn't That eager to render that minifig, but now I am :) I could easyly use the low-res fig as a template. However, I can recall I've seen (...) (20 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Re: Prossima sfida robotica (era XXI Legofest - Crema)

(20 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.org.it.itlug)

Re: Help me convert this train program to use events (NQC)

(...) If it were me, I'd destroy one small LEGO 9v wire. Cut the wire in half, and splice in a long segment of speaker wire. That would look better than a short layout, or the battery-powered train. Steve (20 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: Design

I imagine that if I were to ever design a robot's functions on paper first, I'd probably use a finite state machine, since FSMs map to events pretty well. The robot's functions would have to be complex enough to make it worth it, though. For code, (...) (20 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)
