  Re: Darth Vader at K-mart

(...) Do these contests (guess the number of bricks in this big huge model) strike anyone else as... well, really kinda difficult? With the kind of contest it's based on- guessing the number of pennies in a jar, jellybeans, etc- the items you're (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Bulk Ordering - Secrets Revealed.

You might as well add to the list 3.1 A little gloating is common in the RTL/LUGNET community Examples: "Look at my cool MOC", "I am now 9V complete", and any of the various FOTW, FOTY, FOTC, FOTLT (of which Sanjay seemed to find) Ken (...) said (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Bulk Ordering - Secrets Revealed.

Hey I got an idea! Lets go after all of those people that post a FOTW (FOTY etc.). I hate to hear how they leave two sets of three on the shelf without posting an address and a phone number of the place they were. How dare they not buy those other (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: [WTB] 12 V trafo

(...) <snip> There *certainly* was a 12V-110V trafo. I used to own it! It was Lego blue with a red dial and had (I think 6xn) surface of Lego studs along the top. There were three outputs on the side (12V, 0-12V, and?) -- Thomas Main (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Bulk Ordering - Secrets Revealed.

(...) No, all you need to have is a scheme underwhich bulk ordering is as profitable or more profitable than selling sets. That will probably mean that the price per piece on bulk orders is higher than that in a set (but we know the market is (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  Darth Vader at K-mart

I went to K-mart yesterday and as soon as I walked in and took a left to head to the Lego section - BOOM! There was a HUGE (at least 6 feet tall) Darth Vader guess the number of bricks display. Very cool. Prizes were kinda lame, 1st $30 system,2nd (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  Where's 8447?

Hello, I have found something odd about this year's Technic set numbering. There is an 8444 (Helicopter), 8445 (Rae Car), 8446 (Crane Truck), and 8448 (Auto Chassis), but no 8447. Could TLG be saving something big that is waitng to be released later (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: The new Super Car

(...) The #5 cross axle isn't new, it's in several of the Throwbots sets (four of which I have already inventoried, see lugnet.db.inv) I'm not sure if you're talking about 8445 or 8448. 8445 Indy Storm also uses some of the Throwbot "foot" pieces (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: The History of LEGO Plates - Part 1.

(...) Very interesting. This London Bus has 29 white windows (18 - 1x4x2, 7 - 1x3x2, and 4 - 1x2x2) versus the later (1975) London bus we are all familiar with which had 22 red windows (10 -1x4x2, 11 - 1x3x2 and 1 - 1x2x2) as well as 2 - 1x1x1 (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)
