Re: The four types of markets (was Re: Reverse (buyer's) auction for train windows and other parts

(...) Not quite, in eBays dutch auction, you specify a quantity and bid. Your bid is what you are willing to pay PER item. For instance, if there are 25 widgets up for auction, and you bid $4 for quantity ten, your maximum bid is $40. If there were (...) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.theory)

  *** AUCTION UPDATE #5 ***

Heya all ! Here is my auction. All sets are completely with boxes and instructions. Sets signed with "*" have only front and back parts of boxes but are completely with instructions and all parts.   Re: Train Module at BayLUG

(...) Mike, That is a good idea, IMO to turn the modules sideways to give yourself extra room. I am doing the same think in my home layout of 5 modules.   Re: Train Module at BayLUG

(...) Why do this? Just match the heights! If the top of the GMLTC module is the same height as the PNLTC module you're all set. However... hmm. there may still need to be a transition because PNLTC modules have fixed height legs. So do GMLTC (...) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf.sj, lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: 5300 (9V motor)

(...) The consensus is that it is possible, and in fact, I think someone has done it. See Brian's green German train in the GMLTC NMRA show pics (various sites). It is impure(1) to do so as opening up the motor irreparably damages it (but not in a (...) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Bulk Ordering - Secrets Revealed.

Well, bully for you, I guess. But think of the message instead if you had surrepetitiously contacted everyone that wanted a lot of parts, and then presented TLG with a 250,000 dollar order and a quarter million in cash. I know I have a spreadsheet (...) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: GMLTC at the NMRA National Convention

(...) Ya, he is. Cuteness aside, though, it's a straight answer. All those bricks were purchased at retail. TLG did not do anything for this club whatever. Too bad we didn't all live in NZ or at least know what Sanjay was up to. (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

Beacons in Joel's challenge, (was Re: Soda-can challenge: beacons, tethers, etc.

How about using beacons to locate your position in the room? Can the robot place one beacon in each corner of the 8x8 room and then triangulate off the four beacons while navigating the rest of the room to find the cams? By the way, I didn't see (...) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)
