 | | tris vs quads?

I seem to recall this being discussed here before, but I can't find it. My question is, if I have a surface covered with a large number of triangles (eg output from txt2dat), is it better to leave it as triangles, or attempt to consolidate as many (...) (21 years ago, 2-May-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) That's got a lovely design aesthetic, though I'm not sure about the "teeth" details--they break up the sleek black feel of the prow. The engine detail is lovely, and are a great use of those new ball-joint sockets. So how big is this (...) (21 years ago, 2-May-05, to lugnet.space, FTX)

 | | Brickfest dark room
|
|
Ok, fine, lets do this as a open theme room. I'm thinking we do one side of the room in blacklight for all those nifty trans neon colors and the other side as dark as safety will allow for the people who want to do stuff with lighted brick. If you (...) (21 years ago, 2-May-05, to lugnet.events)

 | | A Grest Star Wars Weekend!
|

It was a great weekend at the park. OK, so there wasn't the vast number of MOCs you would see at a fest but there were enough there that it certainly impressed the viewing public. Even with all the kids there, the only MOC that endured a tough time (...) (21 years ago, 2-May-05, to lugnet.legoland.california, lugnet.org.us.lugola, lugnet.org.us.sandlug, lugnet.starwars)

(...) DUDE! That would be an awesome model for USD 10.00! Do you have the parts sources to supply 200 copies at that price point? If you do, you've got my vote! (not that we're voting)... If not... er... well... nice try. (21 years ago, 2-May-05, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

(...) You'll probably find your batteries are about 1.2V so with six batteries you get 7.2V. Marketing and advertising states they are 9V motors so you should be able to take any lego motor (that has 6 batteries) upto 9V and get an additional 25% (...) (21 years ago, 1-May-05, to lugnet.technic)
