Re: who does chris think he is?

(...) Thanks Kelly, One does not have to be college educated to be able to figure out if one has violated the ToS. I couldn't recite a single item from the ToS, because it has been so long since I read it. But I know the difference between crossing (...)   Re: who does chris think he is?

(...) This sort of highlights something that I wonder about. Are smaller, out-of-the way groups more suitable for otherwise questionable behavior? With things like off-topic.debate, it's skipped by default, so there's less chance that (say) a kid (...)   Re: IR Tower Building

(...) Try this schematic, which is my interpretation of the RS232 IR tower supplied with the RCX: (URL) Apart from the IR receiver device itself, getting hold of suitable components shouldn't be difficult. Most of the transistors are general purpose (...) (21 years ago, 21-Jan-05, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

Re: Parts editing made easy, anyone?

(...) Hi Stefan, yes I believe there would be interest in such a utility. And yes, I believe most people still used text-based programs to edit parts. There are tools that make it a bit easier, like LDDesignPad, but it's still basically just a text (...) (21 years ago, 21-Jan-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Wire routing

(...) In my wider trains I usually include a 1x4 hole in the cab floor and have the wire connecting to the motor with the connector at the same end of the motor as the coupling. The 1x4 slot gives enough room for the bogies of a loco of bogie (...) (21 years ago, 21-Jan-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Parts editing made easy, anyone?

Are parts authors really using text editors to compose new parts? I find it hard to understand that a text editor is still the tool of choice for this relatively complicated modeling task. I might be wrong and could need an update on what tools (...) (21 years ago, 21-Jan-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: www.legoideas.com

(...) I'd rather pay less for the package and have more of my money go to the brick. The new tub with the studs is not really a very good tub compared to the old one with the flat lid... it takes up a lot more space and doesn't travel nearly as (...) (21 years ago, 21-Jan-05, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Lego Studios Question

{snip} I called the number for Lego Canada and was told by a recording that they would be closed Oct.11 for Thanksgiving, and resume regular business hours afterwards. Not sure if I called the wrong number, or called after hours or what happened. (...) (21 years ago, 21-Jan-05, to lugnet.general)

  Re: www.legoideas.com

You know, I can understand not using tubs for the smaller sets, but it sure would have been nice to see the 4421 in a tub. Then again, continuity of the series might be lost if one were in a tub while others were in boxes... I know! Put them ALL in (...) (21 years ago, 21-Jan-05, to lugnet.general)

RCX3 - Can extra hardware functionality be added?

Having had a good look inside my RCX, I'm thinking seriously about what is really possible in the same space envelope, whether extra ports or functions could be added for RCX3. I think it's useful for us to know what's inside the RCX, especially if (...) (21 years ago, 21-Jan-05, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Downtown Disney Lego Store being renovated

The Lego Imagination Center at Downtown Disney has started renovations. The store itself is now hidden behind privacy walls, and all the signage and figures have been removed from the roof.   Re: Open letter to the CEO of the LEGO Company / Call for your signs! (no discussions here please)

(...) Amen! Snipped the whole long thing, but I agree with every word you wrote. And thanks for the spotlight, guys & gals, you helped me notice this post. It's not worth my time to slog through the garbage going on here anymore. I want to have an (...) (21 years ago, 21-Jan-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto) !

  Re: Instructions bigger than box??

(...) Hmmmm I have that set and my instructions also show no sign of folding. I no longer have the box so I can't check, but I don't ever recall having instructions bigger than the box. IIRC I got mine from Europe, and the packaging may have been (...) (21 years ago, 21-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: new models 2005 (crane)

  Re: Cable Operated Shovel

(...) Thank you! Most of my inventory was purchased by my parents in the 80's when i was a kid ;). When I re-discovered legos as a hobby I started buying new ones, I'd say over the last year I've spent about 500$. I just purchase them at local toy (...)
