Lego loses legal battle with Best-Lock in Germany

Lego is about to lose its monopoly in Germany. They have lost their suit to keep out Best-Lock and lost the law protecting the sanctity of The Brick. Mega Bloks are poised to go into the German market and are projected to rapidly take 20% market (...) (21 years ago, 10-Dec-04, to lugnet.mediawatch)

PCS Edventures partners with Mega Bloks

PCS Edventures has partnered with Mega Bloks to be their partner in the education market. Presumably this means their BrickLab kit will feature MegaBloks instead of Lego. Longtime Lugnetters may remember Richard Wright (aka Weird Richard). (URL) (21 years ago, 10-Dec-04, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Who Lied? (was: Halving the colours in the palette - Lego Life Sept 2004)

(...) (Hefts large clue-stick) The colour change was initiated in 2000 by the Design Group - as an exercise in improving how the colours play together. The palette reduction seems to have been initiated in 2004 by the "Sourcing for the Future" group (...) (21 years ago, 10-Dec-04, to lugnet.color, FTX)

(...) Wow! Working 60 & 70 hours a week will take it's toll on anybody. That and these short winter days and the holiday rush only add fuel to the fire. You mention that you have a family so there's more or your time divied up. Granted you have (...) (21 years ago, 10-Dec-04, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.dear-lego)

Here is my first foray into sculpture. He's not master builder quality or anything, but I'm pleased with it and he will definitely join the holiday decorations around the house for the rest of the season. (...) Yes good list. (...) What if a file is in both the unoffical directory and the official directory? Which one should win? I think the one unofficial version should win but should it be the other way round? May this should be a selectable (...) (21 years ago, 10-Dec-04, to lugnet.cad)

Re: New England Church - MOC for Lego Factory week 4

I like the white chuch, and I really like the trees. Also, I'm always amazed at how many different ways there are to build a 2-wide car with the limited LDD Factory contest pallette. LDD is growing on me too - but I wish there was a way to view a (...) (21 years ago, 10-Dec-04, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

  Re: Lego Factory repeat entries???

(...) Interesting. It probably depends on what Lego's definition of "entirely new" is, I suppose. As an example, the current Senior model vote leader this week is a blue baseball stadium, which I assume is from the same builder as another blue (...)   Re: Town Hall - Micro Scale for Lego Factory Contest

(...) Thank you. I remember admiring the hospital and putting it in my personal top tier of entries. I especially liked the driveway cover made of glass, the red/white color scheme, and the wonderful micro-helicopter. To me, having good "playable" (...)   loc.au stats (was - all quiet on the loc.au front)

(...) Well, I like seeing people calling for up-to-date stats! I've included a comparison to November 2002 (because that was the last published November .loc.au stats). I certainly hope that when they refer to "some parts" being too high quality for their purpose that they will NEVER apply this principle to the brick. *gulp* I also think that the reduction in colors is a good idea so that the remaining colors can (...) (21 years ago, 9-Dec-04, to lugnet.color)
