Doesn't really apply to your question but I ran into this awhile ago and have yet to use it in an MOC: If you put a trans-dark blue visor on a minifig and place him under trans-red glass, the visor will become black. I believe it should work the (...) (21 years ago, 5-Dec-04, to lugnet.space)

(...) One thing I forgot. Allan, you grew up with Samsonite in Canada. Well you had more time to get Samsonite sets than USA folks. Samsonite Lego was sold in the USA from 1961 to 1972.
