Classic Lego sets? (was Re: TLG 1998 Annual Report)

(...) I zipped thru a TRU the other day, and saw something new. Sets marked as "Classic". I was in a bit of a hurry, so I did not have a chance to do a close examination. I saw two sets, a large box on the lower shelf, and a small one near the top. (...) (27 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

  L3P primitive substitution

Lars, Is L3P supposed to substitute for the 2-4cyls.dat primitive? I just L3P'd the Minifig Longbow, and it looked great except for the 2-4cyls.dat which were turned into quads and really stood out. I'm using v1.1 if that helps. -John Van (27 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) No, I don't believe it is exhaustive. And many numbers used (element numbers) have been changed. (...) Good question. James may have had a database, or maybe he just kept track in some simple way. I think Joshua did help him some with that (...) (27 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Anyone want to get together Saturday or Sunday?

I can come on thursday, but are you sure you don't want to wait a week or so? 3 days could be considered short notice. If you still want to do it, email me directions at jtbeerm@ibm.net Jimmy (...) (27 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.loc.us.nc.ral)

  [MOC] Baja Unlimited Class Truck

Have a peek at (URL) for a look at my new Baja Truck. There are 3 60K images. Sorry about the big pictures, I couldn't get them to look decent compressed. As always, comments and suggestions are welcome... Cheers, Ralph Hempel - P.Eng ---...--- (...) (27 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

  [ANN] pbFORTH 1.0.5 for RCX

Re: MIT handy board or laptop..

(...) That would be great if you could show me a 8086 or 286 that ran Linux. You can get Xenix (or could get Xenix) for 286 machines, but you probably can't write the low-level device drivers to run the I/O ports that you'll be custom building for (...)   Re: Jar Jar will probably be back

(...) ObSWnitpick: Lightsabres aren't hot, they excite the particles in the objects they are passing through, and cause the 'burn' effect differently. If lightsabres were hot enough to create the kind of heat needed to burn/cauterize the kind of (...) (27 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Blocking IR

Hi Kekoa, Could you post your working IR .srec code or email me if possible? I have tried the examples with the LegOS read sensor routines and I still get the same results. i.e. it works at about 2mm from the unit but fails after more than 5mm. I (...)   Re: TLG 1998 Annual Report

(...) Yes, probably. I guess it would not be as bad if they provided a better, (I.E. More advanced) Town sets, or General sets. They don't, and all of the other themes are becoming that as well. It is horrible, I cannot comprehend TLG planning or (...) (27 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Jar Jar will probably be back

(...) How about "The Menace may be destroyed, but the new Darth Maul lurks in the nearby future." I know it sounds weird, but Maul didn't bleed when Obi-Wan chopped him in half. I'm thinking that he is a droid. Maybe? Greg citrusx__@yahoo.com (URL) (27 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) SNIP (...) I don't think so, you forgot the words "New" and "future". And Phantom is not on your list. This gives, something like: <Darth> <Maul> may <be> destroyed, but the New Future Menace lurks nearby. Seems more likely, though new and (...) (27 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Where are the World Cup Sets this time around?

Dear TLG- What a missed opportunity. You have the Women's World Cup 1999 being played in the US, yet you chosen not to market the Football/Soccer sets this year as you had in the past with the Men's Cup. Someone should be fired for such a blunder. (...) (27 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)
