  Schedule for BF 2003?

I'm trying to plan out my vacations for the remainder of this year. Does anyone know when BF is going to be? I would assume based on last years dates, that it will be July 18-20. Will it be in the same building as last year? -Rob (22 years ago, 7-Jan-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: MOC: All Terrain Crane

(...) Well, I don't want to go into *that* argument, but I feel string is one of those few items that's perfectly acceptable to substitute with non-LEGO materials :-) (...) No problemo. I highlighted your post last week, but couldn't reply then (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jan-03, to lugnet.modelteam, lugnet.technic)

  Gateway patent using Lego

Gateway, Inc. claims an invention in which physical blocks electronically furnish a virtual model to a computer. I don't see any mention of prior art, which ought to include work by Modulex and MIT using instrumented Lego. In fact, Lego is their (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: 2003 Trains - great!

(...) I know, and I hope they do sell well. The freight train is probably the only one I'm interested in, but I might just stick to buying parts. I'd certainly like a closer look. (...) Don't forget the classic tan + brown. It really needs to be (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: MOC: All Terrain Crane

(...) Thanks! (...) Hmmm. I didnt even try that - just chose the grey cos it looked more like the steel of your average hydraulic ram 8?) Might try a red one too.... I actually thought about getting a steel rod & inserting into a plastic sleeve - (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jan-03, to lugnet.modelteam, lugnet.technic)

  Re: 2003 Lego Sets

(...) These sets are quite neat actually. The tiger set has a slider with a progressively collapsing walkway (like the studios pit), and the yeti set has a string that opens the cave when you try to pull out the treasure chest. The large creatures (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jan-03, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Your folks were so helpful... going to try again

(...) Ack! I just wrote a nice post in reply here and I accidentally deleted it. Woops! Anyway, it went something like this: When dragon flames are too big for torches, I do this: Take a space gun (black or brown work nice) and turn it barrel up. (...) <snip> (...) Clone brands, seem to be growing in popularity, good or bad, it _should_ be good for even the purists, as it should drive down cost for the Lego Brand.   Technic in the 2003 Pitsco Catalog

Just checked the mailbox and in it was the 2003 Pitsco. As usual w/ Pitsco, prices are a bit high, but hey. In past editions, pages showing parts most often were just drawings w/ no color to them. Well that's changed (about time); you get to see the (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jan-03, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Understanding Leaks

(...) I'm not so sure about this. With the exception of Shifty bricks, I can't think of any current clone brands that do much copying from LEGO, certainly not to the extent that they'd lurk around fan sites to cull secret, leaked information. What (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)
