  Re: Pipe Racers Demo Videos

(...) We looked at 22.5 deg joints but it's not so much the angle (well, 22.5 vs 90 yes, but...) as the sudden increase in outer diameter due to the joint. Once you build some flexibility for the increase in diamater due to the fitting, most of the (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.space)

I uninstalled Fruit Menu to see if it was the source of my crashes, but now after using contextual menu to change color of a brick, mouse clicks register about 30 pixels to low.   Re: Pipe Racers Demo Videos

This is so cool! I really look forward to see how this is developed. I imagine it will be quite a trick to get this across the joints. Have you thought about a less extreme joint? 30 deg maybe? (If they make those) I'm including .space in this (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.space)

Re: Excellent rendering with MegaPov 0.7 (long post)

(...) Well, you shouldn't actually replace the definitions but place them after line 16 (#declare BUMPNORMAL = normal { bumps 0.01 scale 20 } and before the line saying: # declare 07071 = sqrt(0.5);. Remove the lines #declare AMB = 0.4; and #declare (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Bricks West 2003 Area Hotels Booking up fast!

Folks, I just arranged a flat to stay at during BW2003. From what I understand, the area Hotels are booking up fast. The Grand Pallisades is booked as are a coupple of other nearby resorts.   Re: Excellent rendering with MegaPov 0.7 (long post)

(...) Thanks! (...) Well, I rendered a model by James Mathis (ICE train) with radiosity and camera-blur and Mega-Pov + POV-Ray 3.1 was SEVEN TIMES FASTER than POV-Ray 3.5! I also liked the overal picture rendered by MegaPov better, a bit softer if (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: 4-6-4 Hudson Yellowbelly

(...) Thanks! (...) The drive wheels are only connected to the chassis by couplings, the top is "pressed on" the chassis by 2 springed wheels holders (the red ones).   Re: New SW set sightings in COS

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm up in the Fort Collins area, and I was just starting to think that I'd never see the MINI sets in CO. I haven't seen them yet at the Target in Fort Collins (I was there this morning, looking.), but maybe it's time to go (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.loc.us.co.cos)

New SW set sightings in COS

I recently located several of the new SW sets here in Colorado Springs, at the new "super Target" on Powers. (...) Agreed wholeheartedly, as I opened the box and removed the instructions I found that just travelling to my house had caused a severe rip in the spine. One other point I forgot to mention in my original review ... The massive instruction book (228 A3 pages) is too heavy for its style of binding and the covers quickly detached from the rest of the book as I started to turn through the pages. And (...) (...) It's really quite fun--part of it is because it's in 3D vs the usual 2D building we do (ie, wheeled/tracked floor based vehicle) and at that, you have to work at any angle (because the pipe is 1D, but you can approach the joint at 360 (...)
