Re: Such a dark and drizzly place this has become.....

(...) LOL :-) (...) Yes, it is sad. I'm a townie, but I almost never post here, because I'm busy building my own town. When there are no good sets to discuss, all we townies can do is build our own things. --Tobias (25 years ago, 24-Feb-00, to lugnet.town)

To Michael... If you are looking for prices, fine, but if you want offers, I beleive you are off topic for this group. "Best offer" deals belong in lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade. To Pat & Ben: Here's some hints on my intake construction techniques. For the Osprey: Take two 3x1 hypotenuse bricks & stick them side-by-side to a 2x1 single-hole beam brick. Then attach a 2x2 helicopter pin plate to the beam brick. Finally, mount (...) (25 years ago, 24-Feb-00, to lugnet.space)

Another (semi-) standard field for inventories

I couldn't find a definitive prior discussion to followup-to, so I'm posting this fresh. So far, the general standard set of fields for an inventory has been: Part Name Part Number (where available) Color Quantity I'd like to suggest another field (...) (25 years ago, 24-Feb-00, to lugnet.db.inv)

Proportion of bad bidders on eBay?

(...) I don't agree. Out of 234 completed auctions this year I have one possible deadbeat. Out of >500 this year and last I had <10 deadbeats total. I think that's pretty good. Are your figures very different from that, Scott? Kevin (25 years ago, 24-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Popula, the quirkiest auction site?

(...) This is really a chicken-and-egg situation: in a venue where there are not enough bidders to run the price up, sellers set the price to what they hope to get and usually the item sells at or near that price.   LEGO Bulk Sales in 1950's.

This week I came across a new revelation. LEGO used to sell pieces via "bulk sales" back in the 1950's. But that was only in Denmark around circa 1954-56, and it was from RETAILERS!!!!. I came across two old 1950's LEGO retailer boxes for 2x10 white (...) (25 years ago, 24-Feb-00, to lugnet.general)
