Introducing my latest biped, Gyro. Its name comes from its
mechanism, which mimics the effect of a gyro stabilization
system and keeps the upper torso parallel to the ground
while the rest of the walker leans side to side, keeping the
center of gravity over the foot that is currently on the
ground. Its walking mechanism is quite compact and I've
clocked it at approximately 9 feet per minute. I'm working on
getting a video posted, as you really need to see the
mechanism in motion to appreciate it.
