<blah blah blah from me>

Hello All ,

Hello Mr.T.

Just A week ago I arrived back in Melbourne ,Australia. After Beening In the USA
for Brickfest PDX (Ross Crawford went too)

And The American & German AFOL said They would LOVE a BrickFest (TM) In
Australia. Talks, was to have it mid 2005 (? winter it may be cold ?)

Sounds good to me, I have friends from both countries (and others) who also say
that it woudl be cool to see us have such a show..

We may Be SMALL , But we are only going to Get BIGGER ! And BIGGER ! As time
goes on .

Yes, but that is also us 'known' fans... have you seen how many Australians have
signed up to Bricklink etc?  Quite a few... then there are those who don't have
the net or know about such sites... those who have never heard of us and then
all the school kids who use the stuff etc... and the children out there who love
the stuff, the people LEGO send their glorious World Club mags to ;)... there
are more than we think... But it's also a good way to get others interested.

At BrickFest PDX , In the main Talk Room , They asked everyone to stand up .
And Then asked them to sit down, as per what meetings they had been to ,and the
time that they had been building with Lego
(I call it building, not playing).

Building for me too... playing is for the kids and wanna-be kids ;)

And nearly 3/4 of the people sat down in the first turn !
This goes to show, how big the AFOL populatin ,has gotten much bigger in the
last year or so.

I also had a bit of a talk to JAKE from LEGO. And he wants to HEAR more from us
AUSSIES !

Woohoooo! We are here... somewhere, but here! Let's bring us out!

I don't Know what it's like in QLD . But I think the way that we are going to
get more AUSTRALIAN AFOL . Is to have more LEGO SHOWS , LEGO TRAIN SHOWS.
And A LOT MORE MEDIA COVERAGE.

Yep, indeed! And we have to do the work... LEGO can only do so much, but we as
fans are then ones who are to encourage others...

At least Once every two months .In The MX newspaper, I see a lego artical . But
these are always from some were else in the world NOT AUSTRALIA . I hope to
change this . By hopefully putting in a artical about M>ltc , and some of there
Melbourne trains and trams.

Anywhere!!! Everywhere!!! Behind toilet doors even! ;)

Another Idea I had was for ALL AUSSIE AFOL  to get all of the spare bricks
together (old, etc) and donate them to the Australian Army to give to the kids
in East Temor . Bring some smiles to Kids faces !!
And Hopefully have another small artical in the newspaper to tell Aussies about
this.

I could do that... but it would be good to advertise that in a flyer too... Have
a large Donation bin where people put their unwanted LEGO parts etc into... and
as Anita said to me, have the services deliver it... army or who ever is
involved...

Germany AFOL has sent LEGO to Afghanistan, for the kids.
American  AFOL has sent Lego to Iraq (?) , for the kids.

And soon we may be able to count in Australia :)

Many Thanks, Teunis  .  M>ltc / MUGS

Mel
