Here are a few pics of the castle I'm working on.  First is a rough layout that
I did up in Excel using square cells that represent a 4x4 Lego area:

The purple rectangle in the center will be the king's quarters, or area where
all the royalty lives.  All the other colored rectangles will be other
buildings for merchants, peasants, soldiers, etc.  The bottom is the castle
front, all the gray is walls and dark gray will be towers of some sort (it is
very rough and likely to change as I build).

So far I have finished the outer wall for the front half of the castle, which
is made up of three sections that are 48x64 each.  They slide together using
the technic pin and socket technique, with bricks and plates snapped on to hold
things more firmly together.  The pics are here:

I have completed the foundation for the back half, which also has 3 sections.
Left rear is 48x80, the center rear section is 64x80 and right rear is 32x80.

I hope to have the outer wall for all six sections sometime before end of
February, then start on the king's quarters during the Spring.  Hopefully I can
get it completed by end of this summer, but my spare time for building seems to
be at a premium these days.  The "master" plan for this castle includes
surrounding terrain with moat flowing into a lake as well as a wooded region
along a small ridge of rocks.  Total area to be 288x288 or 9x9 square
baseplates (in a house I don't yet own)

That is the largest lego model i have ever seen! It makes my warwick castle look
like a shack by comparison. How much do you think the model is worth? $1000? $5000?
$10000?
