1/275 Scale Salamis Kai from Zeta Gundam —Jeff Stembel
Started mid-2004 and not finished until hours before its debut at the National Air and Space Museum on April 16, I present to you my 1/275th scale Salamis Kai. An upgraded version of the original Salamis from the 0070s, this ship contains an added (...)         Re: 1/275 Scale Salamis Kai from Zeta Gundam —Edward Welsh
Sweet ship, Jeff! I love the way you interlock different slope bricks to create different planes. I find the scale of it especially satisfying--vast without threatening to crush small onlookers. What is the Maersk blue behemoth in the background of (...) (19 years ago, 25-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: 1/275 Scale Salamis Kai from Zeta Gundam —Jeff Stembel
(...) Thanks! It is actually larger than I'd originally planned, but as I built more, that's the scale it wanted to be. It helped that I had a good diagram that matched up 2 studs per tick on my ruler. XD (...) That would be Dan's luxury liner (...)         Re: 1/275 Scale Salamis Kai from Zeta Gundam —Dave Johann
Hey there, Jeff! As I mentioned the other day, I love this! It's HUGE, solid, and doesn't lack in detail. I'd love to see more pics/closeups if at all possible. -Dave (19 years ago, 25-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: 1/275 Scale Salamis Kai from Zeta Gundam —Jeff Stembel
(...) Thanks! I plan to get more pictures, but it probably won't be for a few weeks due to other things gettng in the way. ^^; Jeff (19 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: 1/275 Scale Salamis Kai from Zeta Gundam —Eric Sophie
Now that is a cool ship to model! I am totally intrigued by the front end of that ship! So VERY cool how you made the it! I like all the design features, from the rear end fan tail shrouds to that magnificent front end! Plus you completed the build (...)          Re: 1/275 Scale Salamis Kai from Zeta Gundam —Jeff Stembel
(...) Better yet, it had the right mix of difficult and easy elements. (...) Thanks for the feedback! :) Jeff (19 years ago, 27-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: 1/275 Scale Salamis Kai from Zeta Gundam —Keith Goldman
(...) Nice Work Jeff, upon first inspection I thought it was something from Starblazers. Very cool hull shape and paint scheme. My only real complaint was the guns, but you addressed that already. I'd love to see it in person. -Keith (19 years ago, 27-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: 1/275 Scale Salamis Kai from Zeta Gundam —Jeff Stembel
(...) Excuse me while I cry. ;_; On the other hand, at least you didn't think it was a Spanish Galleon like one four year old girl did! ;) (...) Did you have a complaint about any of the guns other than the twin mega particle cannons on either side? (...) (19 years ago, 27-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: 1/275 Scale Salamis Kai from Zeta Gundam —Keith Goldman
(...) About the guns, because the black sucks the detail out of the guns they look kind of like tumors. Just changing them to a shade of gray might fix the problem. In general they just look a little under-detailed, but don't take away from the (...) (19 years ago, 28-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: 1/275 Scale Salamis Kai from Zeta Gundam —Jeff Stembel
(...) Black doesn't photograph well; they're a lot more detailed in person. I'd considered Dark Grey, but I didn't have the parts at the time. I plan to get the parts, though, because I want to try it and decide if I like it better (I even have an (...) (19 years ago, 28-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: 1/275 Scale Salamis Kai from Zeta Gundam —Daniel Rubin
Oh wow Jeff! What a terrific aircraft carrier! Or is it that ship from that old cartoon Starblazers!?! Seriously though, I'm not sure I said so in person, but this thing is pretty cool looking, and well put together (rock solid). There's some great (...)          Re: 1/275 Scale Salamis Kai from Zeta Gundam —Jeff Stembel
(...) Duh, man, it's a Spanish Galleon! ;) (...) Thanks! I definitely agree with you on SNOT. :) Oh, and I look forward to you finishing that ship from the Fifth Element with the swimming pool! :D Jeff (19 years ago, 28-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
